Excellent Signed and Engraved Bertuzzi Orione 20 Gauge Round Action Triggerplate Double Barrel
Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 6096, 20 gauge, 29 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. This high
quality shotgun features fine scroll engraving on the rounded body triggerplate action, trigger guard, forend
iron, and toplever. The underside has a pheasant taking flight out of tall grass, and there is a banner with “FLLI
BERTUZZI” on both sides. The right of the front of the trigger guard is signed “S. BERTUZZI”. Single steel bead
sight on the hand filed concave game rib. The left side rear is marked “FLLI BERTUZZI ITALY”. The underside
of the left barrel is marked “NEW ENGLAND ARMS”, “CAM.70”, “15.8” and an Italian proofmark. The chokes
are improved cylinder/improved modified. The underside of the right barrel is marked “KITTERY POINT ME”,
“KGI.170”, “15.8”, and an Italian proofmark. Matching serial number on the lower tang, water table, and barrel
flat. It has a single non-selective trigger, tang mounted manual safety with gold “S”, blue barrels, coin finished
remaining parts, and mounted with an extra fancy multi-point Turkish walnut splinter forend and straight grip
stock with engraved coin finished heel and toe plates and finely checkered bare butt. The shotgun comes with
a suede muzzle cover and a leather bound Nizzoli hard takedown case with brass corner protectors, leather
straps, and wine colored felt lining with a leather Flli Bertuzzi label sewn to the inside of the lid. Barrel and
stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .624/.624 inches; choke constriction
.018/.025 inches; minimum wall thickness .033/.034 inches; 1 1/8 inch drop at comb; 1 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14
5/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 99% original blue finish, 98% original coin finish with some light
clean oxidation on the triggerguard/lower tang, slight rubs at the muzzle, minor handling evidence, and sharp
checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent with a few minor scuffs and
scrapes on the exterior.
