Rare Sport-System Dittrich (SSD) Model PTR44 Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 0870, 7.92 x 33mm
Kurz cal., 16 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured about 2010 by Sport-System Dittrich
of Germany and imported by PTR-91 Incorporated of Connecticut, this is a very scarce and desirable semi-
automatic commercial copy of the WWII German MP43/44 Sturmgewehr assault rifle. Appropriate adjustments
have been made for closed bolt, semi-auto only operation; otherwise,
the design hews as close as reasonably possible to the vintage
Sturmgewehr. Quantities are limited, with only about 200 believed
to have been imported into the USA due to the limitations on
production and importation. Blade front and tangent rear sights,
with the serial number and “PTR44” on the left side of the stamped
sheet metal frame, and manufacturer/importer markings on the right side, and a “fxo” stamp on the underside
in emulation of the original wartime production. Fitted with a pair of ribbed pistol grips, a hardwood buttstock
with ribbed naked butt and steel reinforced toe and heel, and a
“gxy/1944” marked sling.

Semi-Automatic Rifle with Sniper
Scope, Case, and Accessories - Serial no.
fzs0045, 308 Win cal., 20 1/2 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, laminate stock. Manufactured
in Decatur, Texas, as a high quality modern semi-automatic version of
the famous World War II era German Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 (FG 42)
automatic paratrooper rifle, chambered for .308 Win. and utilizing modified
M1A magazines. Features folding hooded post front and folding adjustable
peep rear sights, removable compensator shroud threaded onto the muzzle,
reversible spike bayonet, folding metal bipod, “S/F” marked fire controls, and
simulated droop wing “eagle” proofs and “fzs” code on top of the receiver.
Fitted with a laminate birch handguard and stock, along with a checkered
plastic pistol grip. Topped off with a modern made “ddx” code Gw ZF4 4x
scope with throw-lever mounts. Includes a black All-Weather Tactical hard
case and an extra magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish with some
limited minor cycling wear and limited handling evidence. The furniture is
exceptionally fine with some chips missing from the handguard around the
charging handle channel. Mechanically excellent. The scope is excellent with
clear optics.
Estimate: 13,000 - 19,000
CONDITION: Fine, with 80% plus original blue finish,
showing areas of brown patina, minor spotting, and some
handling/tool marks. An area on the right side of the
receiver above the trigger housing shows a square section
of brown patina with signs of tack welding on the upper
and lower edges; the receiver may have had a scope rail
installed and later removed. Wood is excellent. The safety
is out of order, otherwise mechanically very good.
