Alvin A. White Signed, Master Engraved, and Nickel Plated Colt Model 1908 Vest
Pocket Semi-Automatic Pistol with Pearl Grips - Serial no. 145065, 25 ACP cal., 2 inch
round bbl., nickel finish, pearl grips.
The factory letter lists this pistol in .25
caliber with a 2 inch barrel and blue finish
and indicates it was one of ten guns of this type in
a shipment to Abercrombie & Fitch in New York City on
August 18, 1916. It was masterfully embellished by Master
Engraver Alvin A. White in March 2012 according to the
consignor, with Mr. White’s signature “A.A.W.” engraved
in script on the left side of the grip frame, along with 40%
coverage floral pattern scroll engravings with ‘punch-dot’ backdrop accents
across the frame and slide. Features fixed non-snag recessed blade front and notch rear sights in groove,
two-line Colt address and patent dates roll-marked on the left side of the slide with Rampant Colt behind the
serrations, the caliber designation on the right of the slide, and the serial number on the left of the frame. The
left of the trigger guard is marked with a partial “triangle/VP” factory proof. Fitted with a pair of smooth pearl
grips with silver Colt medallion inserts and a nickel plated magazine marked “CAL.25/COLT” on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent as masterfully embellished by Alvin A. White, retaining 99% nickel plating with limited minor
handling wear, clear roll marks, and crisp engravings. The pearl grip are also excellent with some attractive aged patina to
the medallions. Overall a very attractive example of a Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket pistol elegantly upgraded by Master Engraver Alvin A. White!

Exquisite Engraved and Gold
Inlaid Colt Series 70 Gold Cup
National Match Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Ivory Grips and Colt Display Case - Serial no. 70N70414, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue/gold finish, ivory grips. Manufactured in 1979 and subsequently masterfully embellished
with near full coverage tight floral scroll engraving over a matted background as well as a relief
gold inlaid Rampant Colt on the left side and gold inlaid “GOLD CUP/NATIONAL MATCH” marking
with a relief inlaid gold trophy of the right side of the slide all surrounded fine gold wire borders. The
beautifully executed engraving is unsigned but was clearly cut by a skilled hand. The pistol is fitted with
a blade front sight, an Elliason rear sight, jewelled trigger and hammer, and a set of smooth ivory grips with
blued and engraved screws. Included is a wood and glass Colt display case fitted with a blued magazine acting as a stand
(magazine fixed in place).
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence, some areas of plum hue,
and a few tiny age lines on the grips. Mechanically excellent. The display case is very fine.
