Wise Lite Arms Model AJM 53 Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. WLA28-6963, 7.92 mm Mauser cal., 21 1/2 inch round bbl., matte black finish,
hardwood stock. A semi-automatic only copy of the Yugoslavian M53, which was itself a copy of the famed World War II era MG 42 general purpose
machine gun, manufactured by Wise Lite Arms of Boyd, Texas. Constructed from a combination of new-made and surplus components, it fires from
a closed-bolt. It features folding front and adjustable tangent rear sights, quick change barrel, detachable and foldable bipod, painted hardwood
buttstock with wire reinforcement, and an AR-15 pattern trigger pack in the fire control module.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 85% plus matte black finish with moderate handling marks and light edge wear, along with scattered spotting,
especially around the iron sights and heat shield. The stock is fine, painted black with moderate scuffs and handling wear. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 7,500 - 9,500
LOT 423
Rare Sport-System Dittrich (SSD) Model PTR44 Semi-
Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 0768, 7.92 x 33mm Kurz cal., 16 inch round bbl., blue
finish, laminate stock. Manufactured circa 2010 by Sport-System Dittrich of Germany and
imported by PTR-91 Incorporated of Connecticut, this is a very scarce and desirable semi-
automatic commercial copy of the World War II German MP43/44 Sturmgewehr assault
rifle. Appropriate adjustments have been made for closed bolt, semi-auto only operation; otherwise, the design hews as close
as reasonably possible to the vintage Sturmgewehr. Quantities are limited, with only about 200 believed to have been imported
into the USA due to the limitations on production and importation. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the serial number
and “PTR44” on the left side of the stamped sheet metal frame, and manufacturer/importer markings on the right side below
the scope rail, and “fxo” and “cos” stamps on the underside in emulation of the original wartime production. Fitted with a pair of
ribbed pistol grips, a hardwood buttstock with ribbed naked butt and steel reinforced toe and heel, and a leather sling. Included
with the lot is an unmarked canvas three-cell magazine pouch (right side configuration), two extra magazines, and a thread
protector with a gas restrictor insert.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing spotting, areas of brown patina, and scattered wear and
scratches. The buttstock is mixed numbered, and has the look of a military surplus component, with scuffs, scratches and dents.
Mechanically excellent. The pouch is fine, showing mild stains and wear.
Estimate: 9,000 - 15,000
