Excellent and Highly Desirable Soviet Izhevsk Arsenal SVD Dragunov
Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle with PSO-1 Scope, 1PN58 Night Vision
Scope, and Accessories - Serial no. 67737, 7.62x54 R cal., 24 1/2 inch round
bbl., black finish, laminate stock. Manufactured by the Izhevsk Machine-
Building Plant in Russia c. 1987. Developed between 1958 and 1963, the
‘Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova’ (translated as “Dragunov Sniper Rifle”),
also known as the SVD or simply as the ‘Dragunov’, was meant to provide
a full-power designated marksman platform for Soviet infantry squads
of the time, which were largely reliant on more close-ranged automatic
small arms like the Kalashnikov family. Features hooded post front and
adjustable tangent rear sights, a bayonet lug on the elongated flash hider,
adjustable gas block, “1987” manufacture date on the underside of the
receiver with the serial number, and Izhmash “triangle/arrow” marking.
Matching visible “67737” serial numbers on the bolt head, bolt carrier, and
dust cover, along with matching “737” partial serial numbers on the gas
block, safety, and trigger housing. Fitted with a pair of varnished birch
handguards and a varnished laminate thumb-hole stock (numbered to
a different PSO-1 scope unit) with detachable leatherette covered cheek
riser. Topped off with a PSO-1 4x24 mm scope unit (transliterated serial
number: “TV00462”) with illuminated reticle, integrated IR filter, sun shade,
a rubber eye piece, and a matching serial number to the rifle marked on the
back of the integral side rail mount. Includes a bayonet, sheath, four extra
magazines, a four cell web magazine pouch also containing cleaning tools,
a web sling, and a web scope cover. Also included with the lot is a Soviet
“hammer/sickle” emblemed 1PN58/NSPU-1 3.5x passive night vision scope
unit (transliterated serial number: “ZH07815”), complete with a matching
numbered green metal transport case fitted for the optics containing three
extra battery cells, two extra rubber eye pieces, a service kit, a web cover
and carry pouch, an original Cyrillic manual, and a printout of the manual
translated to English.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% original black finish with a few minor
handling marks and scuffs, along with some light mounting wear on the
optic rail. The furniture is very fine with some minor scratches and handling
wear in the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The PSO-1 scope unit us
excellent with mostly clear optics, electronically untested. The 1PN58 scope
unit is excellent, electronically untested. The accessories are exceptionally
fine to excellent.
