Factory Dewil and Lallemand Signed, Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Belgian
Browning Midas Grade Superposed Skeet Shotgun - Serial no. 22876S73, 12 gauge, 26
3/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1973. Built with blued Special
Steel barrels featuring dual white bead sights on the matted vent
rib, standard markings, wedges scroll engraving at the breech,
“**$”/”**$” (skeet/skeet) chokes, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with
automatic ejectors. The blued action displays full coverage scroll
engraving on punchdot background surrounding game bird scenes
showing a trio of pheasant on the left, three mallards on the right,
and a grouse on the underside. The birds are rendered in fine semi-
relief gold inlay with gold inlaid borders around the scenes on the
sides of the action. The trigger guard and tangs are engraved with matching scroll and checkerboard patterns, with a
blank initial shield at the center of the guard. The piece is signed “R.DEWIL” on the left of the action at the low rear and
“LALLEMAND” on the lower right rear for FN engravers Rene Dewil and Pierre Lallemand. The gun features a single gold
trigger and a tang mounted safety/selector with gold inlaid “O”, “U”, and “S” indicators. The gun is fitted with a highly figured
Midas Grade pattern multi-point checkered forend with engraved forend iron as well as a round knob long tang semi-pistol
grip stock with a Browning recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements: bore diameter nine inches from the breech .726/.725 inches; choke constriction .005/.005 inches; minimum
wall thickness .038/.039 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 13/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

20 Gauge Diana Grade Superposed Shotgun - Serial no. 56966V69, 20 gauge, 28
inch vent rib bbl., blue/French grey finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1969. Built with
blued Special Steel barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the matted vent rib, light
engraving at the upper breech, chokes marked “**”/”*”
(modified/full), and 3 inch chambers with ejectors. The
barrels are fitted to the French grey finished action which
is engraved in the Diana Grade pattern with flowing scroll
designs surrounding four game scenes depicting a flock of
mallards in a marsh on the right, a nide of pheasants in a
wooded scene on the left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a pair of rabbits on the trigger guard all in fine detail with
matted backgrounds creating contrast. The engraving is signed “J.LEWANCZYK” on both sides below the scene for FN
engraver Jules Lewanczyk. The gun features a single gold trigger and tang mounted safety/selector with gold “S”, “O”, and
“U” indicators. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered Lightning forend with engraved iron
and a short tang flat knob pistol grip stock with a Browning buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter
nine inches from the breech .622/.625 inches; choke constriction .014/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness ..039/.033 inches; 1
3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue and coin finishes with some minor discoloration on areas of the coin and minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with some
light dings and scratches, minor edge wear, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
