Ruger/Linebaugh Custom Sixguns Bisley Single Action
Revolver in 500 Linebaugh, with Case - Serial no.
87-12740, 500 Linebaugh cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue
finish, synthetic grips. Originally manufactured in 1999 as a Bisley-
gripped Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 Magnum, per included order form the revolver was sent
in to Linebaugh Custom Sixguns the same year for upgrades. The revolver was to be upgraded
to 500 Linebaugh caliber, fitted with an Elmer Keith long range front sight with two inlaid silver sight
lines on a barrel band mount, a Bowen all steel rear sight, and “ivory micarta” grips. All of that work has
been performed, in addition to Linebaugh’s signature 5-round unfluted cylinder (assembly numbered
“234” to match the frame) and mechanical upgrade to permit free cylinder spin with the loading gate open.
The original serial number was retained, with the Linebaugh address and caliber marking added to the barrel, “RUGER
BISLEY” added to the right side of the frame, and a cylinder pin with extra retention screw installed. Included with the
revolver is the original Ruger hard case and 1999 vintage Linebaugh order information.
CONDITION: Excellent as upgraded, with 98% plus Linebaugh blue finish, showing a plum tone to the frame and gripstraps,
a small scratch near the left side of the rear sight pin, and minor handling marks overall. Grips are also excellent, with a few scuffs.
Mechanically excellent. Bright with strong rifling.
