Exceptional Early DWM Model 1900 American Eagle Commercial Semi-Automatic
Luger - Serial no. 9690, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
checkered grips. This is an excellent example of a very desirable DWM Model 1900 Luger Commercial pistol. These were
the real true fist issue/manufactured commercial Luger pistol that started it all. These were intended for sales in Germany and
Europe a considerable number were rerouted to the United States, however this one was not one of them. It has the American
Eagle over the chamber and the “DWM” monogram on the front toggle. It does not have any GERMANY export markings. It
has the early features such as the dished toggles with toggle lock, grip safety, recessed bolt and early tapered barrel. It had a
high polished blue finish with the straw colored small parts with
the polished lower safety position. It is fitted with checkered
walnut grips and is complete with an original early nickel
plated magazine with an unmarked wood base.
CONDITION: Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish
overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The
various small parts retain 70% of their straw colors. The grips
are very fine with nice distinct original checkering on both sides
showing only minor handling marks mixed with light wear across the
tops of the checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Automatic Pistol with Holster - Serial no. 561, 7.65
mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/straw finish, walnut grips.
Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, Swiss “cross in sunburst” crest on top
of the chamber, “DWM” monogram on the front toggle, dished toggles with toggle lock, a
flat breech bolt, grip safety, no stock lug, and fast taper barrel. The barrel is marked with “crown/B,”
“crown/G,” and “crown/U,” the extension with “crown/B” and “crown/U,” the front toggle with “crown/B”
and “crown/U,” and the breech block with “crown/B” proofs. Matching serial numbers on the barrel and frame,
along with matching “61” partials on the takedown lever, side plate, trigger, magazine release, toggle links, breech
block, and grip safety, which is inscribed “E. PONCY.” Fitted with matching checkered walnut grips numbered “61” on
the interior. The nickel finished flat button magazine is fitted with a hardwood base with “EC” carved in the bottom.
Includes a brown leather holster marked “E. PONCY/561” in ink and leather shoulder strap.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% plus original blue
finish and 85% straw colors with light handling marks, faint
spotting on the grip straps, and crisp checkering
on the excellent grips. The holster is fine with supple
leather. Mechanically excellent.
