The barrels are chambered
for 8x57 JRS and 5.6x52R, a
combination that makes for
an excellent stalking rifle,
giving the ability to take game
from hares up to red stag
or elk, all with just one rifle.
The coined action displays
detailed engraved game
scenes on either side and
bottom, displaying an eagle
taking down one of two hares on the
right, a pair of foxes playing on the left, and a mountain forest scene on the underside featuring a pair
of chamois, a boar, two big horn sheep, a roe deer, and a badger, all surrounded by beautifully cut oak leaf and pine cone pattern
relief engraving and bordering, along with the portrait of an elderly sportsman glassing for game on the trigger guard. The engraver’s
initials, “circled/MR”, are marked on the lower right of bottom game scene for factory engraver Michael Richter. Fitted with a highly
figured multi-point checkered forearm and buttstock with engraved and coined fittings, a shadowline cheekpiece, engraved and
coined grip cap with the initials “NJ”, and a black rubber recoil pad. Topped off with Swarovski Z8i 2-16x50 mm P scope on a Heym
dual throw lever quick detach barrel mount. Includes a Swarovski scope cover.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue and coin finishes with a few light handling marks and crisp, clear engravings. The
stock is also excellent with a few faint handling marks, mostly crisp checkering, and very attractive figure. Mechanically excellent. The
scope is also excellent with clear optics, electronically functions as tested.
