Well-Documented Ken Hurst Signed,
Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Steve Earle Frank Wesson No. 1 Single Shot
Target Rifle - NSN, 45-90 cal., 34 inch round bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. Built
for the American Single Shot Rifle Association’s 2005-2006 raffle, this fantastic rifle was
completed with a blued Green Mountain barrel featuring a globe spirit level front sight by Montana
Vintage Arms and Rigby flats integrally milled into the barrel which show attractive scroll engraving.
The barrel is fitted to a blued Steve Earle made Frank Wesson No. 1 action with casehardened block and
underlever. The action is wonderfully engraved and gold inlaid with intricate
floral scroll designs on both sides as well as on the hammer and backaction
lockplate. The engraving was carried out by famed Master Engraver Ken Hurst
who has signed his work at the top of the action. The upper tang is fitted with
a long range ladder peep sight also by Montana Vintage Arms. The rifle is fitted
with a high grade French walnut forend and pistol grip stock shaped by Dave Crossno
and finished by Steve Durren. The forend has an ebony tip and the stock features an ebony grip cap, base for the
peep sight, and a deeply checkered blued steel buttplate. This rifle is picture on the cover of and described in the
March-April issue of “Single Shot Rifle Journal”, a copy of which is included.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp
checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Dakota Arms Inc. Little Sharps Single Shot Falling Block Rifle in
.38-55 with Montana Vintage Arms Scope - Serial no. LS0245, 38-55 cal., 26 inch heavy
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured c. 21st century in Sturgis, South
Dakota, featuring a dovetailed globe front sight and absent rear sight, casehardened scope mount
bases screwed on the top barrel flat with the “38-55” caliber designation on the
left side of the chamber, the Dakota Arms marking on the left side of
the casehardened receiver, and the serial number on the bottom tang.
Fitted with a smooth walnut forend and straight-profile stock with
smooth shotgun buttplate. Topped off with a Montana Vintage Arms
(MVA) Series 4000 6x scope on a pair of adjustable bases.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish and case colors with some
limited minor edge wear, some minor muting on the edges, plum coloration on the buttplate,
and minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with some minor specs of compression
and handling wear along with attractive contrasting grain. Mechanically excellent. The scope is
exceptionally fine with some limited minor surface oxidation and mostly clear optics.
