Double Rifle in .470 Nitro Express - Serial no. J04409, 470 Nitro Express
cal., 24 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/French gray finish, deluxe walnut stock.
Manufactured in 2004 per the German “AE” date code under the barrels.
Features brass beaded blade front sight and a white-line notch rear sights on
raised and matted ribs on the blued barrels, a French grey boxlock action with
double triggers and a tang mounted cocking safety. The action displays extensive floral
themed engraving, surrounding game scenes on either side with a pair of Cape buffalo on the left side and a pair of
elephants on the right, bordered with intricate patterns and with floral patterns continued on either side of the chambers and on the top lever. Fitted with an ebony tipped and multi point
checkered Schnabel pattern deluxe walnut forend along with a checkered deluxe walnut stock with an ebony grip cap with a brass insert engraved with the scene of a male lion, shadowline
cheek piece, shot filler in a interior cavity, and a black rubberized recoil pad. 14 1/8 inch length of pull, weight 11 lbs. 9 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent as factory embellished and game scene engraved, retaining 99% original blue and French gray finishes with limited minor handling evidence and crisp detailed engraving.
The wood is also excellent with crisp checkering, a few minor handling marks on the forend and grip cap, and eye-catching fiddle back pattern grain. Mechanically excellent.

after 1993. Built with blued steel barrels
featuring a matted ramped beaded blade
fore sight with flip-up moon bead, notch rear
sight on the smooth rear quarter rib which
is signed “B. SEARCY & Co BORON CA U.S.A.
along with a flourish of scroll engraving,
single band of engraving at the breech, “470
NITRO-EXPRESS marked on the left chamber,
and chambers with automatic ejectors.
The barrels are fitted to the satin finished
stainless bolstered boxlock action which
displays scroll engraving surrounding “B.
SEARCY & Co” signatures on either side and a game
scene depicting a bull elephant facing the observer on the underside. The
rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual
safety. The rifle is fitted with a an attractively figured and multi-point checkered
semi-beavertail forend with engraved iron as well as a pistol grip stock with satin
stainless grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, and a Pachmayr Old English recoil
pad. Includes an oak & leather flat case with maker’s label and a set of snap caps
as well as a hard plastic takedown case. Length of pull 15 1/16 inches. Weight 11 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% refurbished blue finish with some loss at the muzzle, minor handling
evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine.
