Very Scarce Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle in .22 Short with
Octagonal Barrel - Serial no. 73630, 22 Short cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured in 1946, the final year for the octagon barrel as factory standard on the
Model 61 in Short, LR and WRF. Beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights, with the model and
caliber markings on the upper left flat, address and “PATENTS PENDING” marking on the upper right, and the “WP” proof on
top near the chamber. The “WP” is repeated on top of the receiver, with “AJ” on the front and matching serial numbers on the receiver and frame.
Fitted with a 17-groove forearm and a smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing mild cycling wear around the slide
handle, high edge wear, and minor spotting and handling marks. The stock is very fine, with mild scuffs
and dings. Mechanically excellent.

Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle in .22 Short with Very Scarce Round Barrel
- Serial no. 90140, 22 Short cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1947, which
was both the introductory year for the round barrel on non-SLLR Model 61s and the final year for 22 Short
production; while no hard information on total numbers is available, it is speculated (per Schwing, “Winchester Slide-
Action Rifles, Volume II”, page 40) that the round barreled 22 Short is the rarest full production variant of the 61. Beaded blade
front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights, with standard address and caliber markings on the left side of the barrel and the “WP” proof on top
near the chamber. The “WP” is repeated on top of the receiver, with matching serial numbers on the receiver and frame. Fitted with a 17-groove forearm and a
smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Extremely fine, 90% slightly faded original blue finish showing minor spotting and cycling
wear around the slide handle, scattered light scratches and moderate edge wear. The stock is very fine, with
minor scuffs and dents. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Winchester Model
62A Slide Action Rifle with
Original Box - Serial no. 398201,
22 S L LR cal., 23 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1957, the Model 62 was
designed to replace the Model 1890 and 1906.
The breech bolt mechanism was changed bringing about
the designation 62A to later production rifles such as this. This example is outstanding and in its
original box with the standard markings. It is fitted with a beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sight. It is
mounted with a 17-groove slide handle and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Includes the original
box with correct label hand numbered to match the gun.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish only the slightest handling marks overall, dried grease in the
protected areas, possibly concealing some oxidation issues, and having the appearance of being assembled a few times. The wood is excellent with a few very light handling marks, dings, and a minor
scuff on the bottom of the stock. Not assembled for function test. The box is fine with some tape, mild wear, no partitions, and a separated corner of the lower half.

199862, 22 LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1953.
Beaded blade front and Winchester 32B elevation adjustable rear sights, third style barrel inscription,
Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, serrated trigger and hammer lock,
smooth round top receiver, non-drilled upper tang, and matching serial numbers on the receiver and trigger guard
assembly. 17 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered blue steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine with 98% blue, sharp markings, some light handling marks, and a small trace of scattered spotting. The wood is also very fine with attractive
color and just a few small dings. Mechanically excellent.
