Daewoo Precision Industries USAS-12 Automatic Shotgun, Class
III/NFA “RESTRICTED-POST
‘86” Machine Gun with
Factory Box and Extra Magazines - Serial no. 1000040FA, 12 cal., 18 inch round bbl.,
matte gray phosphate finish, synthetic stock. Originally developed in the 1980s, the USAS-
12 takes many design cues from Maxwell Atchisson’s 1970s vintage Atchisson Assault
Shotgun, being a gas-operated magazine fed shotgun patterned after the M-16/AR-15
family of rifles, in particular arranging the firearm to put the barrel as close in line with
the shoulder as possible to diminish felt recoil. Unlike the semi-automatic “destructive
device” variation, this example is a true fully automatic military variation with a capability
of 400-450 rounds per minute, designed to provide sustained firepower in a close-combat
scenario, and is legally considered a machine gun by ATF standards. Elevation adjustable pin front and windage adjustable peep rear sights, with the former in a hooded post and the latter inside an integral carry handle, with a reversible cocking handle and ejector port cover, maker markings on the left of the receiver and the model, 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch chamber, and importer markings on the right. The handguard is ribbed and ventilated, with an AR-style trigger group and pistol grip and a fixed plastic buttstock with a ribbed rubber buttplate. Currently affixed with its included detachable 20-round drum magazine. Also includes its matching factory box, 6 extra curved box magazines, cleaning brush, plastic muzzle cap, and green/black nylon sling. This example is consecutively serial numbered to lot number 1584.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% original matte gray phosphate finish with some light handling marks and a few scratches. The stock and grip are also excellent with minimal handling marks. Functions as it should in semi- automatic and automatic modes, mechanically excellent. Included box is very good with some edge wear, some old tape, handling marks, and one small hole. NOTE: This weapon is a “RESTRICTED-POST ‘86”, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C.
