  LOT 3378
Colt M16A2 Fully Automatic Rifle, Class III/NFA “RESTRICTED-POST ‘86” Machine Gun - Serial no.
 8093925, 5.56x45 mm
cal., 20 inch round bbl.,
matte black phosphate
finish, synthetic stock. Developed in the early 1980s, the
M16A2’s parameters were mostly driven by requests made
by the United States Marine Corps. These requests included alterations to the stock
and forearm, integration of an adjustable rear sight, closing off the bottom of the birdcage pattern flash hider, and swapping out the full auto fire mode for a three round burst mode. These were the signature weapon of the U.S. armed forces through the end of the Cold War and up to the War on Terror. Although marked “M16A2” on the receiver and externally identical, this example offered features “SAFE/SEMI/AUTO” modes with the auto mode in place of the A2’s “BURST” mode; with this example officially termed an M16A3.
The M16A3, a modified version of the M16A2, was adopted in small numbers by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Seabees, and Security units. Adjustable post front and peep rear sights, with the A2 flash hider on a “C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7” marked HBAR profile barrel with a bayonet lug and round handguard. “C/M” is cast into the carry handle, with a round button style forward assist and casing deflector integrated into the upper, “(Rampant Colt logo)/COLT/M16A2/CAL. 5.56 MM./8093925” marked on the left of the magazine well, and the four-line Colt’s Firearms Division address next to the selector switch. The bolt head and carrier are both matte black finished, with “C” on the carrier and “MPC” on the head. Fitted with a checkered pistol grip and a fixed buttstock with trapdoor compartment. Includes black nylon sling and plastic muzzle cap.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% original matte black phosphate finish with some light handling marks. The stock and grip are also excellent with minimal handling marks. Functions as it should in semi-automatic and automatic modes, mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a “RESTRICTED-POST ‘86”, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. LOT 3379 Unique and Desirable Jonathan Arthur Ciener Ultimate Over/Under Short Barrel Shotgun Class III/NFA - Serial no. S374495V, 12 cal., 12 1/2 inch round bbl., matte gray finish, synthetic stock. This is a short barrel shotgun, named the Ultimate Over/Under, manufactured in very limited numbers by Jonathan Arthur Ciener out of Cape Canaveral, Florida using a Remington Wingmaster 870 as the basis. This platform is designed for use underneath the barrel of AR-15/M16 rifles, specifically the M16A2 variation, affixing itself to the bayonet lug and either side of an elongated front receiver pin (not included). It is similar in function and concept to the Knight’s Armament Company Masterkey, and was developed in 1989 as a competitor to it in an attempt to gain U.S. military interest. The main purpose in mind was for use in door breaching, utilizing the power of the shotgun to punch a door knob out, and eliminating the need for soldiers to carry an extra standard shotgun along with their standard issue rifle. Because the shotgun has no grip behind the trigger, when firing, the main rifle’s magazine functions as a makeshift pistol grip. It is said these may have seen limited use with the Delta Force in Somalia. This is the ultimate rare item, and a must have, for any serious AR-15/M16 or modern U.S. Military collector! CONDITION: Very fine, retains 99% applied matte gray finish with some light handling marks, and some residue on the right of the receiver. The bright bolt has some very light pitting on the right. Forend is also excellent with limited handling marks. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. Provenance: The Al Walker Collection.
