Exceptional DWM Model 1902 American Eagle Commercial 9mm “Fat Barrel” Luger Semi- Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 22578, 9 mm cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. This
is an exceptionally fine original example of the first pistol chambered in 9mm Parabellum, the DWM Model 1902
American Eagle Fat Barrel semi-automatic pistol. Fixed sights, with the American Eagle on the chamber, “DWM” on the front toggle link, and the following
early Luger features: dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, “fat” profile 9mm barrel, flat recoil spring, grip safety and no stock lug. The small parts are straw finished, with a pair of finely checkered grips and a nickel finished magazine with a hardwood base correctly marked “Cal
9m/m”. Parts are matching overall in the “commercial” pattern. The front of the frame is marked “GERMANY”, appropriate to an import of the era.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, with 90% original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, bright edge wear, and mild handling marks overall. 70% of the
original straw colors remain. The grips are very fine, with light stains and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Very Scarce Two Digit Serial Number DWM Model 1920 Commercial/Naval Luger Semi- Automatic Carbine with Shoulder Stock, Case and Accessories - Serial no. 37, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 12 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock, hardwood grips. Produced for commercial sale on the American market, many of these carbines were made using weapons being removed from military inventory due to Versailles Treaty related restrictions, fitting them out with a new barrel, altering the frame to accept a forearm iron, and using the existing stock lug to mount a fine sporting stock. Ramp blade front and Navy-style two-position rear sights, blank chamber, “DWM” toggle, “crown” Imperial proofs on the chamber and breechblock, and a pair of “crown/M” naval-style proofs on the left side of
the chamber. The back strap is marked “W.K./8268”, indicating it as part of the inventory at the German depot at Kiel before being released. “GERMANY” is stamped on the left side of the forearm and frame rail, with “2” on the underside of the barrel (otherwise unnumbered) and receiver, and “37” on many parts
in a “commercial” pattern, including the “crown/M”
stamped wood magazine base with concentric
circle decoration, and the checkered grip panels and
forearm. The carbine comes with a black leatherette
finish, green felt lined case, which contains the pistol
and the following included accessories; a checkered
hardwood shoulder stock with an unnumbered
mounting iron, a box of Western Cartridge 7.65mm ammunition, a
black leather sling, nickel plated oiler and a wood handled screwdriver.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% plus of the blue finish, showing a mixed brown patina on the barrel, light
spotting, and mild handling marks. The grips are also very fine, with a few mild dings, and the forearm and stock shows some chips, dents, and recut checkering. The case is very good, with mild stains and wear. Mechanically excellent,
