Rare Eickhorn World War II German Diplomatic Officer Dagger with
Sheath and Hanger - Designed by Joachim von Ribbentrop for issue to officers
of the Foreign Office, the diplomats and administrators of the Office received very similar sidearms, distinguished by the head of the Reichsadler on the guard, facing to the viewer’s left for diplomats, right for administrators. Measuring 14 1/4 inches overall with a 10 inch blade, blackened silver plated furniture, the aforementioned left-facing eagle on the guard, mother of pearl grips, and a blackened metal sheath with a velvet backed silver ribbon hanger.
CONDITION: Very fine overall. The blade shows some mild spotting and polishing, with light handling marks overall. Some play is present in the hilt, with some loss of detail in the guard eagle and strong silver overall. The hanger shows some wear on the ribbon and backing.

(Postchutz) Leader’s Dagger with Sheath and Hanger - Serial
no. 985. Founded in 1933 as a subset of the Sonderpolizei, the Postschutz was responsible for
providing physical security for the German Post Office, which was the controlling organization for mail, television, telephone and radio operations in the Reich. Originally operating without a standard issue dagger, the Postschutz-Fuhrerdolch was introduced in 1939 and authorized for wear by leaders and officials in the organization. 9 3/4” double edged spear point blade, with the Paul Weyersburg (Solingen) marking on the left ricasso. Nickel finished pommel and guard, with the latter shaped like a spread winged eagle with a black swastika on its chest, and the smooth black grip is marked with the post office logo. The underside of the guard “wings” are marked “985” and “DRP”, indicating this as post office property and not a privately purchased blade. Black enamel painted sheath, with nickel throat, tip and rings, and a chain belt hanger. CONDITION: Excellent overall, with some light handling marks. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection. Fine Eickhorn Production Model 1936 NSKK Dagger
with Chained Sheath
- Following after the
pattern of the 1936 redesign of the SS
uniform dagger, this style of dagger and sheath was
intended for ranking members of the NSKK (National
Socialist Motor Corps), which started as the transport
arm of the Nazi Party and became the leading driver’s
education/traffic authority after the rise to power of the
party. Measuring 13 5/8 inches overall with an 8 5/8 inch
blade etched “Alles fur Deutschland” (Everything for Germany)
on the obverse, and the reverse showing an etched RZM logo
over “M7/66/1940” (Eickhorn) near the guard. Nickel-finished
alloy fittings with the traditional “SA” and Party Eagle badges on
the brown wood grip. With a black enamel and nickel-finished sheath
fitted with an integral middle suspension band and a chain hanger. The
hanger is decorated with oak leaves on the clip, NSKK eagles and sunwheel
swastikas on the faces of the links (4 front, 5 back), “RZ/M” and “M5/8”
(Assmann & Sons, Luedenscheid) on the back of one rear link and “MUSTERSCHUTZ/NSKK-/KORPSFUHRUNG” on the back of one of the front links.
CONDITION: Fine overall, with light spotting and wear on the very fine blade, a few dings, visible cracks on the wood, and mild scuffing and flaking of the nickel and enamel finishes.

Very Scarce World War II German Eickhorn
Second Model Railroad Security Officer Dagger
with Sheath, Hanger and Portepee - Established after the First World War, the Deutsche Reichsbahn was responsible for unifying all the individual state-level railways into a single, integrated national rail service. It would continue in this role under the Third Reich, also taking control of the rails of occupied nations. Measuring 15 inches overall with a 10 inch double edged blade, darkened nickel fittings with a “winged wheel” logo on the guard and a sunwheel swastika on the globe shaped pommel and a twist ribbed black celluloid grip. Includes a silver portepee and nickel finished sheath with hanger.
CONDITION: The dagger, blade and sheath are all excellent with minimal handling marks, the portepee is fine with one area showing some separation of the threads from rubbing, and the hanger is very good with some general light wear.
