Outstanding 1913 Production U.S. Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 21909, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1913, the second year of production for the U.S. contract Colt Model 1911 pistol. It is listed on p. 515 of “U.S. Military Automatic
Pistols: 1894-1920” by Ellis/Meadows as being included in a 500 gun shipment to Rock Island Arsenal on 13 February 1913. The serial number is marked on the right of the frame above the trigger guard and the left side has the U.S. property marking and the “WGP”
inspection mark. The slide has the two-line, two-block patent dates and address on the left with the circled Rampant Colt behind the slide serrations and the model and army nomenclature on the right. The full blue barrel is marked “5” on the bottom and “H” on the chamber
hood. It has blade front and the correct early round-top notch rear sight, which were beginning to be phased out in 1913. It is fitted with a long smooth trigger, checkered slide release and thumb safety, short grip safety, wide checkered hammer, and a smooth straight mainspring housing
with a lanyard loop on the base. The grips are diamond pattern checkered, and the magazine is two-tone with a lanyard loop on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, as issued, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks and some very light edge wear. The grips are also excellent plus with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. One will look a long time to find a finer example!

Exceptional World War I U.S. Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol
Rig with Holster and Belt - Serial no. 171846, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1917 and shipped to Springfield
Armory on 2 August 1917, well before the end of World War I. The left
of the slide is marked with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, while the right has
the standard “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY” marking. The left of the frame has the U.S. property marking and “GHS” inspection mark and the serial number
is on the right. The full blued barrel is marked “P/H” on the chamber hood and “D” on the bottom in front of the lug. Fitted with blade and notch sights,
wide checkered hammer, long smooth trigger, short grip safety, diamond pattern checkered grips, and a “R” marked two-tone magazine. Includes a U.S. leather holster, canvas web belt, Russell canvas web dual magazine pouch, lanyard,
and two extra magazines.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on handling areas. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster, belt, and magazine pouch are all very fine with some light wear.

Excellent World War II U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 2248744, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl.,
parkerized finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1945, the left side of the slide is marked with the standard two-line, two-block patents dates and address with the Rampant Colt between and a “P” is marked on top. The left side of the frame has the “G.H.D.” inspection mark,
“P” below the magazine release, and “e/VP” on the trigger guard. The right has the standard U.S. property marking, serial number, and model markings, with “56” on the trigger guard. The full blue barrel is marked “C” in a square and “P” on the lug. It is fitted with blade
and notch sights, serrated slide release and mainspring housing, checkered thumb safety and narrow hammer, stamped trigger, reinforced grips, and a “G” marked full blue magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original parkerized finish with a few very light handling marks on the grips straps and some light edge/handling wear. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered very light blemishes in the
otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
