Documented Colt Second Generation Single Action Army Revolver with
Stagecoach Box - Serial no. 27230SA, 45 LC cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1959 as one of only 292 in this
configuration. Standard markings and features. Matching serial numbers are
found on the frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and front cylinder face with partial
serial number “230” on the inside of each grip panel. Assembly number “107” is
marked on the inside of the loading gate. This revolver is pictured on page 53 of
Don Wilkerson’s “Colt Single-Action Revolver Handbook 1955-1975”, a copy of which is included, and is noted as being shipped January 19, 1959. Also included is an unmarked Colt “stagecoach” box. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks, a cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good. Single Action Army Revolver with Stagecoach Box - Serial no. 16309SA, 44
special cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips.
Manufactured in 1958. Standard markings and features. Matching serial numbers
on the frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and inside the grip panels. The assembly
number “480” is marked on the front cylinder face and inside the loading gate.
This revolver is pictured on page 108 of Don Wilkerson’s “Colt Single-Action Revolver Handbook 1955-1975”, a copy of which is included, and is noted as being shipped March 5, 1958 and further states there are only three revolvers
in this caliber with lower serial numbers. Also included is an unmarked Colt “stagecoach” box.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish and 97% original case colors with scattered handling marks, slight muzzle wear, light spotting on the frame, and a cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine.
