Framed Buffalo Ranch Wild West Show Poster - Framed poster for the Buffalo Ranch Real Wild West Show depicting several events they would have had at the show. The poster depicts men in Arabic style clothing racing camels, equine football, people dressed in Native American dress riding horses for a grandstand of onlookers, and a group of Native Americans doing
a tradition dance. The text at the bottom reads A LESSON IN THE/ HISTORY OF/ PIONEER DAYS” and “GAMES OF THE/REAL RED MEN/CAMEL RACES”. The Buffalo Ranch Real Wild West Show that was only in business from 1906-09 where it was then auctioned off and rebranded in 1911 as the Kit Carson Buffalo Ranch Wild West Show. The reputation
of the show as
a group of con artists would end up sinking the Kit Carson Show in 1914. Mounted
in a large red painted frame. Frame measures 23 1/4 inches x 58 1/2 inches. CONDITION: Very fine with storage and handling marks, a torn top left corner, and a couple small edge tears. Estimate: 3,500 -

Historic Albumen Print of Legendary Frontierswoman “Calamity” Jane - This exceptionally rare albumen print features the Wild West legend, Martha “Calamity” Jane Cannary (1852-1903) at the center, standing and wearing her iconic fringed buckskins. She wears a western style hat with the butt of a Stevens Hunter’s
Pet pocket rifle resting on the ground and the barrel in her hand. There is a holstered revolver on her hip that appears to be a Colt Single Action Army revolver, and what may be a Smith & Wesson spur trigger revolver tucked
in her belt. The backing/matting of the print has a small handwritten note detailing that the picture is of Calamity Jane and was taken in 1876 or
1877 in Deadwood, South Dakota, and that it was formerly the property of
Rufus J. Pilcher. Rufus’ father Joseph Pilcher is noted as being an established businessman who frequented the same circles as Calamity, and operated a
hotel in Deadwood around the time that she was there.
CONDITION: Fine, the image
distinct with some scattered
mild staining and smudging.
The print has been cut
previously to fit in a frame
and is glued to the card stock
backing/matting. A very
desirable piece of
Wild West history!

Documented William “Buffalo Bill” Cody Signed
Panoramic Group Portrait Postcard Addressed to His
Friend Hattie Horr in 1908 with Book - The portrait is
folded into seven panels and measures 5 1/2 by 25 inches
overall. Buffalo Bill is shown at the center of the group of
Native Americans, and “W.F. Cody./’Buffalo Bill’/1908” is
signed below. The bottom right of the print has “COPYRIGHT
BY STACY, BROOKLYN, N.Y., 1908.” The back is stamped “POST CARD” and has an “EAU CLAIRE/AUG 20/6-M/1908/WIS.” postal mark, a Benjamin Franklin 1 cent stamp, and
“Miss Hattie Horr/Cody./Wyo.” Hattie Grace Horr (1881-1966) was born in Bozeman, Montana. Her mother, Aurilia I. Davis, married McFall in 1898. The no. 2 of 500 signed copy of “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” by R.L. Wilson is included. This signed portrait is shown on page 250 along with two rifles presented to the Horr family of Cody, Wyoming, including a Winchester Model 1890 inscribed to Hattie Horr from Cody. The caption notes that Wild Bill was a close friend of David McFall, who was one of the town’s founders and the owner of the Hart Mountain Inn. It also indicates that Hattie and her brother Leonard looked up to Cody as a father figure and notes that Cody gave gifts to the town’s children. Hattie’s rifle is in the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Buffalo Bill’s Wild West came to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on August 20, 1908, was towards the end of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West run that began back in 1884. In 1909, his group combined with Pawnee Bill’s Far East, and their acts came back to Eau Claire on August 3, 1912. The town of Cody, Wyoming, was founded in 1896.
CONDITION: Very good with distinct image and markings, mild age and storage related wear, and folds. The book is very good with minimal age and storage related wear. This is an excellent piece of rarely seen
Buffalo Bill memorabilia.
