Exceptional, As Issued, U.S.M.C. Harrington & Richardson MC-58 Semi- Automatic Training Rifle with Original Box and Accessories - Serial no. 9493, 22 LR cal., 23 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This is an exceptional, as-issued, example of a Harrington & Richardson MC-58 .22 caliber semi-automatic training rifle with U.S. Marine Corps property markings. Ordered by the United States Marine Corps, the MC-58 was intended as a small caliber training counterpart for the M14 rifle, adapting the H&R Model 65 Reising with an appropriate stock and set of sights. The included original shipping box (with hand numbered label matching the rifle) and sealed rifle wrapping material were opened upon arrival at Rock Island Auction Company for inspection. Also includes a CMP shipping box, MC-58 Marine Corp stock list booklet, a modern CMP M1 Garand manual, modern trigger lock, Boyt leather sling still sealed in original wrap, and another sealed wrap containing two extra magazines, an extractor, and a firing pin. CONDITION: Near new overall, as issued, and only opened for inspection prior to selling. The gun has untouched residue on it from the packing material that does not affect the finish of the gun. Mechanically excellent. Included original box is fine with some light corner and edge wear, one end unsealed for inspection, and some slight age discoloration. This pristine, as issued example of a U.S.M.C. Harrington & Richardson MC-58 training rifle would make an excellent addition to any U.S. military firearms collection! Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500

Exceptional U.S. Springfield Model 1903 National Match Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 1231893, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized/blue finish, walnut stock. This U.S. Springfield Model 1903 National Match service rifle was originally manufactured in 1921. These rifles had selected star gauged barrels, polished bolts, polished receiver runways and followers and incorporated most of the features found on the National Match rifles sold to the public from 1921-1928. This late 1921 manufactured National Match rifle has the distinctive star gauge mark
on the barrel muzzle which was adopted in late 1921 and has armory polishing marks on the bright polished bolt with distinctive armory feathered polishing marks above and below the safety lug and “WL/3” marked on the handle, receiver runways and the top of the follower polished to National Match specifications, and the Rock Island Arsenal cut-off with serifed letters and the “ON” side polished. The rifle has the distinctive black-green parkerized finish on the receiver, barrel, upper barrel band, trigger guard, floor plate, buttplate and small components. The rear barrel band
is blue finished. The rear sight face is bright. The stock has a fine checkered buttplate. The rear sight correctly lacks the 2,850 yard volley notch found on World War I production rifles. The bolt has the post-World War I bent handle. The bolt body is correctly not serial numbered (National Match bolts were not serial numbered until around 1924). The safety lock thumb-piece has block letter markings. The trigger is serrated with a cross-hatched tip. The rifle receiver is roll-stamped “U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903.” above the serial number. The barrel is marked “SA” above the Ordnance shell & flame insignia and the date “10-21”. The oil finished black walnut straight grip stock has two reinforcing bolts, grasping grooves and is fitted with the lower profile post-World War I handguard. The stock has the Ordnance final inspection cartouche with the initials “W.E.S.” in a rectangle on the left of the wrist, circled serifed “P” proof behind the trigger guard. Includes M1907 leather sling, rear sight cover, oiler in butt compartment, and a collector letter of authentication. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% original parkerized finish with some light handling marks, 75% original blue finish on the rear barrel band with brown patina on the balance, and 98% original blue finish on the sights. Stock is very fine as re-oiled, with a few light handling marks and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 4,750

Very Fine Pre-World War I U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action N.R.A. Sales Rifle with Bayonet - Serial no. 620712, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This is a very desirable example of a U.S. Springfield Model 1903 N.R.A. sales rifle. This rifle is marked with the distinctive Ordnance shell and flame insignia over “N.R.A.” underneath
the front of the trigger guard assembly to differentiate it from the standard issued service rifles. These N.R.A. marked rifles were available only to N.R.A. members prior to U.S. entry into World War I. All N.R.A sales rifles were brand new (never rebuilt or altered) and subjected to stringent inspection criteria to include hand selection of the rifle based on the beauty of the wood components for color and uniformity, overal
high grade blue finish and star gauging of the barrel to ensure land and groove uniformity for the best possible
accuracy. These rifles were intended for National Match shooting prior to World War I. The receiver is roll marked with the five-line, standard Springfield Armory markings, and the top of the barrel is stamped “S.A.” above the Ordnance shell and flame insignia and the date “1-16”. The rifle has an oil quenched casehardened receiver and all blued milled components that include the barrel bands, bolt, trigger guard, and floorplate. The safety and cut-off lever are casehardened. It is fitted with a walnut “S” style stock that has a single reinforcing bolt, high hump handguard with proper rear sight clearance cut and spring clips, and checkered steel buttplate with compartment. The rifle has a serrated trigger, dished windage and elevation knob, and rear sight leaf with the 2,850 yard notch. “H” marked on the bayonet lug, “C 6” marked on the right of the rear bolt lug, the left stock wrist is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection initials “J.S.A.” in a rectangle, a small “D” in the cutoff recess, and a small “23” above a circled script “P” firing proof stamped behind the trigger guard. Includes a “1916” dated Springfield M1905 bayonet, tan canvas scabbard, “1915” dated Rock Island Arsenal M1907 leather sling, and oiler inside the butt compartment. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus original blue and oil-quenched finish with some areas turned to a smooth brown patina and otherwise sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Stock is excellent with crisp grasping grooves, defined edges, a few light scratches and handling marks, and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet and scabbard are both fine. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

Harrington & Richardson Model 60 Reising Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 229, 45 ACP cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Approximately 3,248 of these Reising Model 60 semi-automatic carbines were manufactured between 1944-1946. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with the three-line model and address markings atop the receiver, “PM” on the breech, and the “SAFE S.A.” selector markings on the right. Smooth
pistol grip stock with a ribbed steel buttplate. Includes extra magazine and brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very good, retains 40% of the thin original parkerized finish with smooth brown patina on the balance, some areas of light pitting and some light wear to the model markings on top of the receiver. Stock is also very good as re-oiled with some scattered scratches and light dings and defined edges. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
