Fine Pre-World War I U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action N.R.A. Sales Rifle with Bayonet - Serial no. 620620, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This is a very desirable U.S. Springfield Model 1903 N.R.A. sales rifle.
This rifle is marked with the distinctive Ordnance shell and flame insignia over “N.R.A.” underneath the front of the trigger guard assembly to differentiate it from the standard issued service rifles. These N.R.A. marked rifles were available only to N.R.A. members prior to U.S. entry into World War I. All N.R.A. sales rifles were brand new (never rebuilt or altered) and subjected to stringent inspection criteria to include hand selection of the rifle based on the beauty of the wood components for color and uniformity, overall high grade blue finish and Star Gauging of the barrel to ensure land and groove uniformity for the best possible accuracy. These rifles
were intended for National Match shooting prior to World War I. The receiver is roll marked with the five-line, standard Springfield Armory markings, and the top of the barrel is stamped “S.A.” above the Ordnance shell and flame insignia and the date “12-15”. The rifle has an oil quenched casehardened receiver and all blued milled components that include the barrel bands, bolt, trigger guard, and floorplate. The safety and cut-off lever are casehardened. It is fitted with a walnut “S” style stock that has a single reinforcing bolt, high hump handguard with proper rear sight clearance cut and spring clips, and checkered steel buttplate with compartment. The rifle has a serrated trigger, dished windage and elevation knob, and rear sight leaf with the 2,850 yard notch. “H” marked on the bayonet lug, “I 8” marked on the right of the rear bolt lug, the left stock wrist is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection initials “J.S.A.” in a rectangle, a small “D” in the cutoff recess, and a small “15” above a circled script “P” firing proof stamped behind the trigger guard. Includes a “1915” dated Springfield M1905 bayonet, tan canvas scabbard, “1918” dated M1907 leather sling, and oiler inside the butt compartment. CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% original blue and oil-quenched finish with some light flaking and smooth brown patina on the balance, and otherwise sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Stock is excellent with crisp grasping grooves, defined edges, a few light handling marks, and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet and scabbard are both fine overall. World War II U.S. Remington Model 03-A3 Bolt Action Rifle with DCM Shipping Box and Invoice - Serial
no. 3752162, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized/blue finish, walnut stock. This rifle
is accompanied by a DCM shipping box and two Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Documents from the DCM, indicating this rifle was shipped from the Letterkenny Ordnance Depot to an individual in
Seattle, Washington on April 30th, 1963. The receiver is roll marked “U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3/3752162”. The barrel is stamped “RA/Ordnance Shell & Flame/4-43” behind the rear sight. The left of the stock directly behind the safety cut-out is stamped “OGEK” (without a box), the inspection mark of Ed Klouser at the Ogden, Utah Arsenal. The rifle has a two-groove barrel and is mounted with a full one piece walnut stock and checkered steel buttplate with compartment. Includes a “1943” dated M1907 leather sling, and “ordnance bomb/U.S.” and “R” marked Remington front sight cover. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% original parkerized finish on the receiver with some wear on the barrel and on the top edge of the receiver from normal cycling, 60% blue finish with some thinning to a smooth mottled brown patina on the trigger guard, and some light thinning and edge wear on the barrel bands. Stock is very fine with a few minor scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent. Included box is fine. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,500
LOT 3486 U.S. Winchester M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 1198274, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized/blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1944. Blade front and adjustable rear sight, undated Winchester “W” barrel, “EM-Q” Type III barrel band with bayonet lug, “W” milled trigger housing, flip safety, “E.I.” magazine catch, “W” hammer, “W” operating rod, “W” blued flat top bolt, “W” heel and “UN” magazine. Low wood stock, “W.R.A./G.H.D.” and crossed cannons stamped on the right of the buttstock, and “W” two-rivet handguard. Includes green canvas sling and oiler. Intrac import marked underneath the barrel. CONDITION: Fine as arsenal upgraded, retains 75% original parkerized finish with areas turning to a smooth brown, and otherwise sharp edges and markings in the metal.
90% original blue finish remains on the bolt. Stock is also fine as sanded and re-oiled, with a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Very Scarce U.S. Inspected World War II L. C. Smith/ Hunter Arms Co. Field Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. FW201603, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. The right barrel flat is stamped with an ordnance flaming bomb, and “USA- F” is marked on the underside of either barrel just ahead of the flats. These U.S. inspected L. C. Smith Field Grades were used for training aerial gunners during World War II. Rochester Ordnance ordered approximately 1,477 of these guns between May 9th, 1942 to April 9th, 1943, in the 197321-202813 serial range. Reference page 203 of William Brophy’s “L. C. Smith Shotguns”. Blued Armor steel barrels with dual brass bead sights, “L.C. SMITH field GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M’F’R’S FULTON, N.Y., U.S.A” marked on top of the barrels. Standard casehardened receiver and locks, double triggers, and automatic tang safety. Multi-point checkered splinter forend and pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate. Chambers measure 2 3/4” with single extractor, chokes measure improved modified/full, and 14 inch length of pull.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 80% original blue finish on the barrels with a few areas lightly thinning and smooth brown patina on the balance. 60% plus original case colors remain, with scattered moderate freckling and smooth gray patina concentrated on the right. Wood is also fine as re-oiled on the right of the buttstock, with a few scattered light to moderate scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Paul H.
