Short 12 groove slide handle and fancy figured, checkered pistol grip stock with Winchester hard rubber grip cap, and crescent steel buttplate. The left side of the lower tang are stamped with matching special order assembly number “16068”. This rifle is pictured and identified by serial number on pages 58, 150, 160, and 229 of “Winchester Slide Action Rifles: Volume I” by Ned Schwing CONDITION: Very fine with 80% original blue finish, crisp markings, areas of edge wear, small dings, and patchy spotting. The wood is also very fine with moderate handling wear and an oxidized patina on the buttplate.
LOT 3054 Documented Special Order Winchester Deluxe Model 1890 Slide Action Rifle - Serial no. 152792, 22 RF Short cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, checkered walnut pistol grip stock. Manufactured in 1902. Deluxe Model rifles are rare in their own right, but the combination Deluxe Model fancy figured, checkered pistol grip stock, and special order sights only increases the rarity of this particular rifle. Special order Lyman flip up combination front and Winchester Model 32A elevation adjustable sporting notch rear sights, standard barrel inscription, Second Model receiver with hidden locking lugs, serial number on the lower tang, flip up peep sight on the upper tang, and checkered casehardened hammer.

Globe front and Lyman No. 6 two leaf folding rear sight on the factory special order matted barrel with the tenth style barrel inscription, Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, Third Model receiver
with exposed locking lugs, “WRF” marking on front of receiver, tang mounted flip up peep sight,
and matching numbers on the receiver and lower tang. 12 groove slide handle and plain straight

grip stock with blue steel crescent buttplate. The right side of the stock has been period marked “ELW” and the date “3-17-27” has been marked on the left. The aforementioned marks could possibly be factory.
