Outstanding Cased Set of Three Consecutively Serialized Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistols -A) Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 218471, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. This set of three pistols were all manufactured in 1919. The consignor notes that he believes these pistols were part of a small group of 20-25 guns purchased by the Sioux City Police Department in preparation for a potential riot that never came to fruition. The consignor believes the guns were then stored in their boxes at the department until being sold through a distributor. The “B” and “C” pistols both include factory letters that confirm the current configurations and that they were both accepted from the factory on 20 November 1919 and shipped the next day to Simmons Hardware. The “A” pistol was almost certainly also included in the same shipment. All three of the pistols have standard markings and features as well as the noted consecutive serial numbers. The “B” and “C” pistols also include correct factory boxes. Also included is a finely figured hardwood case with enough space for all three pistols. The case is pictured on the back inside dust cover of “Savage Pistols” by Bailey Brower Jr., where it is shown holding three different Savage pistols. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue finish with some light edge wear and a few scattered light handling marks. The grips are excellent showing an attractive chocolate tone, only the slightest handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent with only the slightest handling/storage marks. The boxes are very fine with some light wear and absent sections.
