Ciener/Norinco AKM-47S Selective Fire Rifle, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. M8500927B, 7.62x39 mm cal., 16 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. Originally manufactured by Norinco and imported by Sile of New York City as a semi-automatic Kalashnikov pattern rifle, this lot was subsequently converted to full automatic by Jonathan Arthur Ciener of Titusville, Florida, with the “third pin” hole added to the receiver and proper cuts in the guide rails for the auto sear. Post front and tangent rear sights, with an angled flash hider and bayonet
lug on the barrel, Norinco and Ciener markings on the left side of the receiver, an orange tinted set of laminated furniture, and a
canvas sling. Matching numbers are present on the trunnion, bolt carrier and bolt head, with “GU3946” on the receiver cover and “0032” on the gas cylinder. Magazine absent.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded to full automatic, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks, mild oxidization, and a contrasting tone to the receiver cover. The furniture is excellent, with minor scratches. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. a 1943 dated Long Branch magazine well with Chinese nomenclature on top, stamped trigger housing with DLO markings on the left, and a stamped tubular buttstock. Magazine absent. CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the refinished matte gray phosphate finish, showing some light scuffing and spotting overall. The buttstock retains 90% blue finish, showing some light scratches and wear. The fit of the bolt to the receiver tube and ejector is tight, interfering with the firing cycle, though the trigger and selector mechanism are both in fine order. DLO STEN Mark II Submachine Gun, Class III/ NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. 10L5760, 9 mm cal., 7 3/4 inch round bbl., matte gray phosphate finish, metal stock. Manufactured in Stamford, Connecticut with a mix of new- made and military surplus components, this is a fine copy of the famous Mark II STEN submachine gun. A heavily streamlined weapon built around a tubular receiver and an open bolt action, the STEN and its variants saw Great Britain through and beyond the Second World War.
