Engraved Joseph Lang & Son Side Lock Ejector Double Barrel 20 Gauge Shotgun - Serial no. 10760, 20 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Single bead sight on the smooth concave rib marked “JOSEPH LANG & SON. 102 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON”, 2 3/4 inch chambers, standard London nitro proofs on the
flats, and modified/improved modified chokes. The receiver and locks have light border engraving, gold inlaid cocking
  indicators, standard maker’s marks, double triggers, and automatic tang safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”, the underside
of the action engraved “PATENT EJECTOR.” Checkered splinter forearm with engraved
fittings, Anson latch, and well figured straight grip stock with blank silver initial oval and leather wrapped recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .610/.612 inch; minimum wall
thickness .039/.036; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches, weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as refurbished. The barrels have 98% blue finish remaining with some faint traces of pitting under the blue. The receiver and locks have 95% case colors with some light edge wear. The wood is fine with crisp checkering and small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
side and struck on the water table with the Greener “Elephant” trademark and “ANSON & DEELEY’S PATENT 5702”. Blued trigger guard, Greener patent side mounted safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”, and pistol grip cap. Border and scroll
engraved throughout. The barrels and action with Birmingham “Not For Ball” black powder proof marks, the
barrels each also struck with “W.W.G.” Figured 14 3/8 inch semi-pistol grip stock including rubber recoil pad, with carved drop points, and checkered grip and forearm, the latter with dark horn tip and Deeley & Edge fastener. The underside of the butt with large blank silver oval initial escutcheon and blued sling mount, the corresponding sling mount fitted beneath the barrels. Weight 13 lbs. 11.8 oz.
CONDITION: Barrels retaining 60% older reblued finish with the remainder turning brown, the rib signature clear, and Damascus pattern visible in areas of worn finish. Action with clear scroll engraving, retaining 40% of older reblued finish. Stock expertly refinish with well-defined checkering and sharp drop points, and some minor age staining behind action. CONDITION: Barrels with attractive Damascus twist pattern and retaining 20% original fading browned finish, the remainder a grey patina with some corrosion marking evident, signature crisp and clear. Action retaining 90% original strong casehardened finish, trigger guard and toplever
retaining near 95% original deep blued finish. Stock with minor storage and handling marks, well-defined checkering, has been reoiled, replacement Silvers type
rubber butt pad. Mechanically excellent.

Rare Engraved W.W. Greener 8 Gauge Double Barrel Boxlock Non-Ejector Duck Gun - Serial no. 30060, 8 gauge, 34 inch bbl., brown/blue finish, walnut stock. Completed in 1886 using an Anson & Deeley patent boxlock action incorporating Greener’s treble wedge fast patent. With blued Damascus barrels with raised solid matted rib with bead front sight, signed “W.W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET LONDON & 8 AVENUE DE L’OPERA PARIS. WINNER
AT THE LONDON TRIALS 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879”, and engraved with scrollwork at the rib extension and breech end of the rib and signed “PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST No. 3084”. Blued action signed “W.W. GREENER” on each

LOT 1469 Very Fine W.W. Greener 10 Bore Double Barrel Toplever Hammer Duck Gun - Serial no. 22597, 10 gauge, 32 inch bbl., brown/casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in circa 1882. With browned Damascus barrels with concave rib with bead front sight, signed “W.W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879”, and “PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST No. 3084” in front of the rib extension. Casehardened action with carved percussion fences, Greener patent cross bolt, blued toplever and blued trigger guard. Casehardened rebounding side locks each signed “W.W. GREENER”. The water table stamped “W.W. GREENER’S PATENT” and with the Greener “Elephant” trademark. The barrels struck with Birmingham “Not For Ball” black powder proof marks.
