Blued steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, standard Merkel markings, 1969 dated German proofs, choke constrictions of .034/.039 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers
with automatic ejectors. The coin finished bolstered sideclipped sidelock action displays floral scroll engraving and features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Attractive, contrasting straight grain splinter forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with black grip cap and buttplate. Includes a correct model factory box. Stock measurements: 1

Factory Game Scene Engraved Simson & Co. 16 Gauge Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 170005, 16 gauge, 28 1/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with single bead sight on the matted vent rib, 1952 dated German proofs, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions of .025/.035 inches. The coin finished boxlock actions displays a pair of pheasants on the left, a fox on the underside, and a pair of mallards on the right and features cocking indicators, double triggers, and an automatic tang safety. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.5mm (.728 inches) and measured .731/.732 inches; choke constriction .022/.039 inches; minimum wall thickness .025/.027 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 7/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue and casehardened finishes with some muting in the case colors and minor handling evidence.
