Factory Master Claudio Cremini Signed, Game Scene Engraved, and Gold Inlaid S. Lucchinni 28 Gauge
Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun
with Case - Serial no. 60511, 28 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin/gold finish,
walnut stock. Blued steel chopperlump barrels with a single steel bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, wedges of floral scroll at either breech, gold inlaid “S. Lucchinni Italy” on the left barrel, 1985 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sidelock action displays beautiful deep relief cut scroll over a matted background surrounding the three exceptionally fine game scenes. The left lockplate displays a pair of doves taking off on a riverbank with a wind mill in the background which is marked with the name “JOEL/MORROW”, believed to be the original purchaser of the gun, the right shows a number of grouse in flight around a forested cabin scene, and the underside displays a “LUCCHINNI” signed shotgun and a brace of shot grouse against a cabin wall. The deep scroll continues onto the toplever, both tangs, and the triggerguard. The triggerplate is signed “C. Cremini” to the right of the triggerguard for Italian Master Engraver Claudio Cremini. The gun features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, double triggers (articulated front), and tang mounted manual safety switch. Highly figured, exhibition quality. multi-point checkered splinter forend with matching engraved fittings, including the Anson button release, and straight grip stock with “S/J/J” in the gold inscription oval and a checkered bare butt. Included is a canvas and leather takedown case with Lucchinni interior label. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech proved at 14.0mm (.551 inches) and measured .558/.556 inches; choke constriction .003/.012 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, tiny scratches on the left barrel towards the muzzle, a tiny superficial ding at the right breech, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000

- Serial no. 6583, 12 gauge, 27 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel chopperlump barrels with a single steel bead sight on the matted solid
rib, marked “ACCIAIO SIAU UM6” and “MADE FOR RAVIZZA MILANO” on the right and left respectively, single bands of engraving at either breech, 1974 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sidelock action displays highly attractive relief cut floral scroll engraving over a darkened matted background which extends to the toplever, both tangs, and the triggerguard. The work is signed on the triggerplate to the right of the triggerguard “INC. GRANETTI” for Italian Master Engraver Oscar Granetti. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers (front is articulated), and manual tang mounted safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, gold inlaid inscription plaque, and, Anson button release, and straight grip stock with checkered bare butt. Includes a hard plastic takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech proofed at 18.5/18.4mm (.728/.724 inches) and measured .731/.728 inches; choke constriction .017/.025 inches; minimum wall thickness .022/.022 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with scattered very minor spotting, 99% original coin finish, a scratch at the left breech, and light handling evidence. There is a tiny hairline crack off the upper tang and a small chip at the right rear of the forend, otherwise the wood is very fine with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
