Cased Factory Class “B” Engraved Second Generation Serial Number 003 Colt Walker Percussion Revolver Ordered
by Colt

Guy C. Shafer - Serial no. 003, 44 cal., 9 inch part
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
grips. This example has beautiful factory Class “B”
floral scroll engraving on the rear section of the
barrel, barrel lug, sides of the loading lever, frame,
trigger guard bow, the top of the back strap and
the bottom of the back strap. There is a gold inlaid band at the muzzle. The
factory letter (copy) confirms the configuration with the engraver “Not Listed”,
that it has a unique serial number, it came with a presentation case, that it was
shipped to Guy C. Shafer who was Group Vice President for Colt Industries for a number of years and that it was shipped on November 24th, 1982. With a Colt Custom Shop walnut case. In the previous and following lots are two other factory engraved second generation Colt percussion revolvers, a Pocket Navy and Model 1862 Police, with matching serial number 003, which were
likely ordered by Shafer.
CONDITION: Near new with only a few light handling/storage marks and some minor fading of the case colors on the loading lever. The case is excellent with some scattered minor scratches and dings. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000

has beautifully
executed floral
scroll engraving at
the muzzle, the rear
half of the barrel, the cylinder, the frame, the trigger guard bow and the top of
the back strap. There is a gold band inlaid at the muzzle. With a Colt Custom
Shop walnut case lined in wine colored velvet. In the previous two lots there
are two other factory engraved second generation Colt percussion revolvers, a
Walker and Pocket Navy, with matching serial number 003. All three revolvers
were likely ordered by Colt Industries Group Vice President Guy C. Shafer.
CONDITION: Near new with a few light handling/storage marks and a very faint
drag line on the cylinder. The case is excellent with a few scattered minor scratches and dings. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

and Box - Serial no. 003KBH, 45 LC cal., 4
3/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, original
grips. Manufactured in 1998. The revolver
features blade front and frame notch rear
sights, model and caliber marking on the
left side of the barrel and Colt address on
the top. The front strap and triggerguard
are stamped “003” beneath the birdshead
grips. Includes original shipping box with
end label confirming the configuration
and grip material and Colt blue box. This
revolver is collector serial numbered with
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks and a frosted appearance. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine.

Colt Third Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Birdshead Grip and Box - Serial no. KBH003, 45 LC cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, smooth
grips. Manufactured in 1998. The revolver
features blade front and frame notch rear
sights, model and caliber marking on the
left side of the barrel and Colt address on
the top. The front strap and triggerguard
are stamped “003” beneath the birdshead
grips. Includes a Colt blue box. This
revolver is collector serial numbered with
the previous lot.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99%
plus original blue finish and case colors
with limited handling marks, and some
discoloration on the sides of the hammer.
Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with repairable two split lid corners.

Cased Factory Engraved Serial Number 003 Colt Second Generation Pocket Navy Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 003, 36 cal., 5 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. This example features beautiful factory floral scroll engraving on the rear portion on the barrel, the sides of the
loading lever, the frame, the trigger guard
bow and the top of the back strap. There
is a gold inlaid band at the muzzle. With
a Colt Custom Shop walnut case lined in
wine colored velvet. In the following two
lots there are two other factory engraved
second generation Colt percussion
revolvers, a Walker and Model 1862 Police,
with matching serial number 003. All
three revolvers were likely ordered by Colt
Industries Group Vice President
Guy C. Shafer.
