American Marksman
Armory AK74SU
“Krinkov” Rifle,
Class III/NFA Fully
Transferable
Machine Gun, with
Accessories - Serial
no. A.M.A.477, 5.45x39
mm cal., 8 inch round bbl., matte black phosphate
finish, metal stock. Manufactured in America, this is a close copy of the
Soviet AKS-74U assault rifle. The “U” (Ukorochenniy, “Shortened”) variant of the AKS-74 was meant to serve as a middle ground between a full sized assault rifle and a submachine gun, while preserving as much parts/training commonality with the AK-74/AKS-74 as possible. Intended for special forces operations and issue to rear echelon staff and vehicle crews in what the West would call
the “personal defense weapon” role, as well as serving as a police weapon.
The “Krinkov/Krink” nickname has been the subject of speculation, and
is believed to have roots in the invasion of Afghanistan. Post front and two-
leaf notch rear sights, the latter installed in a dust cover hinge assembly, with
a combination flash hider and muzzle booster on the threaded barrel, laminated
handguard, checkered pistol grip, and side-folding stamped steel stock. The makers marks
are on the underside of the receiver, which is fitted with a scope rail, “AV” and “ED” selector markings, and matching numbers are present on the top cover, gas cylinder, safety, spring guide, bolt carrier, bolt head and barrel. Included with the rifle are nine extra magazines, a magazine pouch, and a number of small parts and maintenance tools. CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus matte black phosphate finish, with some touch-ups applied to the muzzle device, mild edge wear and light handling marks. The forearm shows some light dents and scuffs, with some handling marks on the pistol grip and buttstock. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479. Estimate: 20,000 - 30,000
