Factory Kowalski and Deprez Double Signed, Engraved,
and Gold Inlaid Belgian Browning Midas Grade Superposed Shotgun Three Barrel Set with Case - Serial no. 4963V74, 410 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/gold
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1974. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard markings, wedges scroll engraving at the breech end, 2 1/2 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and “**$”/”**$” (skeet/skeet) chokes. The blued action displays Midas Grade on punchdot background surrounding game bird scenes showing a trio of pheasant on the left, three mallards on the right, and a grouse on the underside. The birds are rendered in fine semi-relief gold inlay with gold inlaid borders around the scenes on the sides of the action. The piece is signed “R.KOWALSKI” on the left side of the
action below the scene and “J.M.DEPREZ” at the low rear for FN engravers Richard Kowalski and Jean-Marie Deprez. The triggerguard and tangs are engraved with matching scroll and checker board patterns and a blank initial shield at the center of the guard. Highly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with a Kick-Eez recoil pad. Includes two extra
matching numbered 28 inch barrel sets with 2 3/4 inch chambers and skeet/skeet chokes. Also includes a Browning Naugahyde
takedown case that houses the set. Barrel measurements for the extra 28 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .548/.549 inches; choke minimum wall thickness .036/.030 inches. Barrel measurements for the extra 20 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .623/.625 inches; choke constriction .003/.003 inches; minimum wall thickness .037/.030 inches. Barrel measurements for the .410 bore set (U/O): choke constriction .003/.005 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 15 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% original blue and 99% original gold finishes with some loss on the lower left of the action, otherwise minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. There is a chip in the rear sight bead. The extra barrels are also excellent. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 9,000 - 14,000
with flowing scroll designs surrounding four game scenes depicting mallards in a marsh on the right, a covey of pheasant in a wooded scene on the left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a pair of rabbits on the trigger guard. The action is signed “A.MARECHAL” on
the left side beneath the game scene and “AM” on the right for FN engraver Alfonse Marechal. Single gold washed trigger and tang
mounted safety/selector switch with gold “S”, “O”, and “U”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with Browning ventilated recoil pad. Includes an extra matching 28 inch 20 gauge barrel set featuring 3 inch chambers with ejectors and improved cylinder/modified
chokes. Also included is a Browning Naugahyde takedown case that houses the set. Barrel measurements for the 20 gauge set (U/O): bores nine inches from the breech measured at .625/.624 inches; choke constriction .006/.015 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.032 inches. Barrel and stock measurements for the 12 gauge set (U/O): bores nine inches from the breech measured at .727/.727 inches; choke constriction .020/.039 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.027 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 11 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with only minor handling evidence and a small ding at the base of the barrel rib, and 50% original gold finish on the trigger. The extra barrel is also excellent. The wood is very fine with some varnish crazing, a few minor scratches, and sharp checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.

gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1966. Blued Special Steel barrels
with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, single band of engraving at the upper breech, chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/full), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin grey receiver is engraved in the Diana Grade pattern
