   LOT 3471 Factory Engraved J. P. Sauer & Sohn Boxlock Double Rifle with Case - Serial no. 154996, 9.3x72 R cal., 24 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued Krupp Laufstahl barrels with white blade front sight, fixed rear sight, and claw mounts on the matted solid rib, dual bands of engraving at either breech, and chambers with single extractor. The casehardened boxlock action displays light scrollwork and features double triggers (front single set), cocking indicators, and tang
mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, horn grip
cap, and red rubber vent recoil pad. Includes a leather takedown case. Length of pull 14 5/16 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 11 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% original blue finish, 50% original case colors, and light handling evidence. There is some absent around at the triggerguard; otherwise, the wood is very good with a few dings and scratches and mostly crisp checkering. The case is very good. Mechanically excellent. Factory Engraved Leopold Saemann Clamshell Boxlock Double Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 22453, 9x57 mm cal., 24 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued Krupp steel barrels with a beaded blade front sight, two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight, and claw mounts holding a Hensoldt Wetzlar Duralyt 4x scope on the matted solid rib as well as “LEOPOLD SAEMANN” and “Gorlitz” marked on the right and left respectively. The caliber is marked 8.6mm on the right barrel and 8.7mm on the
left, both with case lengths of 56mm, indicating that the rifle is chambered in 9x57R. The distinctive clamshell boxlock action displays nicely
executed floral scroll engraving and features cocking indicators, double single set triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with horn tip inlay and pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and checkered buttplate. Length of pull 14 inches. Weight
7 lbs. 14 oz. (scope included). CONDITION: Very fine overall, 95% original blue and 70% original casehardened finishes with light handling evidence, some very minor chipping at the left rear of the action, and overall sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The scope has clear optics. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Backaction Hammer Double Rifle - NSN, 41 cal., 26
inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Blued steel barrels with beaded blade front and
fixed rear sights on the matted solid rib which is marked
with a banner reading “G. L. RASCH. BRAUNSCHWEIG.”, correct
period German proofs, and a single extractor. The casehardened hammer backaction displays Purdey style bouquet & scroll engraving and features rebounding hammers and double set triggers. Attractively figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and horn tip insert, and pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, left handed cheekpiece, and checkered steel toe and heel plates around a serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull 13 3/4 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining 85% reapplied blue finish with a brown patina on the balance, some rubbing near the left breech, attractive silver patina on the case colors, slight gap from the action to the shoe, a few dings in the wood, and worn but defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

W.W. Greener Martini Action Light Harpoon Gun with Case and Accessories - Serial no. 493, 38 cal., 20 inch round
bbl., chrome finish, walnut stock. Manufactured by W.W. Greener of Birmingham, England, the Greener Light Harpoon Gun uses a Martini action and loads .38 caliber blanks to launch harpoons in a similar fashion to rifle grenade “spigot” launchers. In operation the harpoon slots over the
final 11 inches of the barrel
and connects to a line wound
around a quick-detach frames
on the front of the forearm.
Birmingham proofs are present
on multiple components, with
the loading data (14.5 grains of
Cordite, 16 ounce harpoon) on the chamber, the Greener address and model markings on the frame. Fitted with straight wrist stock with a Greener trade mark plastic butt. Comes with an assortment of accessories, including three harpoons, cleaning tools, one wrapped line, two line frames, spare frame adapter, and two oil containers. Includes a green painted hardwood takedown case
CONDITION: Very fine as factory converted for harpoon launching, with 95% plus hard chrome finish, with mild handling marks and moderate spotting on the loading gate. The stock is fine, with scattered light dings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
