Factory Engraved Winchester Model 101 Quail Special Over/ Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. QS12-136E, 12 gauge, 25 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured as one of 500. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib which is marked “QUAIL SPECIAL”, standard markings, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and WinChoke system (improved cylinder/ modified installed). The coin finished action features a dog flushing two quail on the left, a pair of quail in flight on the right, and a single quail with “WINCHESTER/QUAIL SPECIAL” on the bottom, all surrounded by floral scrollwork. Single trigger and tang mounted safety/selector switch. Beautifully figured, fleur-de-lis checkered semi-Schnabel tip forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with Winchester recoil pad. Includes a leather bound Winchester takedown case with four extra chokes (skeet, improved modified, full, and extra full). Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 99% plus original blue, a few dings on the receiver and forend shoe, some discoloration and very light pitting on the lower tang, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

The gun features a single trigger and tang mounted safety/selector. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and round knob pistol grip forend with fleur-de-lis flats, and Winchester black rubber recoil pad. The blued action shows gold inlaid line bordered and a relief engraved gold pigeon and has a single trigger and tang safety/selector. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with Pachmayr ventilated rubber recoil pad. Includes original box and a Winchester luggage style case with two extra choke (improved modified and extra full). The coin finished action displays a pair of pintails on the left, a pair of Canada geese on the right, and the Ducks Unlimited “50 YEARS OF CONSERVATION” logo on the underside and features a single gold trigger and tang mounted safety/selector. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with coin finished grip cap and black Winchester rubber recoil pad. Includes a factory canvas and leather takedown case and three extra chokes (skeet, improved cylinder, and full). Also included are copies factory correspondence concerning the development of this commemorative and a period advertisement. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 7 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue and 99% original coin finishes with some minor spotting towards the right of the muzzles and minor handling evidence. Multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock. Includes Winchester takedown case and two extra chokes (modified and extra full). Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a some scattered scratches and dings and sharp checkering.
