375 H&H magnum cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1910 and 1919 per page 116 of Nigel Brown’s
“British Gunmakers Volume One: London”. Hooded ramped blade front sight, front sling mount, and two position (one standing, one folding) rear sight on the blued
barrel which is marked “HOLLAND & HOLLAND, 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON”. The barrel is removable via a captured screw making for a convenient travel package. The Mauser 98 style

CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish with some rubbing near the breech, nitre blue loss on the ejector box, and overall light general handling/use evidence on the metal. The wood is very good with some minor chipping off the rear tang, worn but well-defined checkering, and deteriorating recoil pad. The scope optics are good but slightly hazy. Mechanically excellent.

Norbert Triebel Engraved and Silver Inlaid Harry Lawson Upgraded Brno VZ24 Mauser Bolt Action
Sporting Rifle with Relief Carved Stock in 7 mm Rem. Mag. - Serial no. 877K4, 7 mm Rem Magnum cal., 24
1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Originally manufactured as a Brno VZ24 Mauser, this rifle has been
professionally upgraded to sporting configuration by Harry Lawson, and engraved, silver inlaid, and carved
by Norbert Triebel. The barrel is marked with the caliber twice, once silver inlaid on top towards the middle
and once stamped on the left at the breech, where there is also a 2 1/4 inch wedge of floral engraving.
The casehardened action and floorplate also have extensive floral engraving with a stippled background,
a standing stag on the floorplate, and a stag bust on the trigger guard, both silver inlaid. The engraver has
signed his work “N.TRIEBEL” at the rear of the floorplate. The pistol grip cap has matching floral engraving
with a silver inlaid mountain goat, and the action is fitted with two scope bases and rings that are engraved
to match. It is mounted with a finely figured, fleur-de-lis checkered, pistol grip stock with a shadowline cheekpiece, Decelerator recoil pad, and slightly contrasting forend tip. The right side of the stock is also relief carved with an elaborate bull and cow moose scene, a band of floral designs circumventing the stock near the butt, and a flourish of floral motifs on the cheekpiece.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as Lawson and Triebel upgraded, retains 99% plus of the blue finish and 80% plus of the case colors with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and crisp engraving. The caliber marking on the left of the barrel is very slightly double stamped. The wood is excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 3394 Auguste Francotte Mauser Style Bolt Action Rifle in .300 H&H - Serial no. 20716, 300 H&H cal., 23 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The barrel is marked “Aug. Francotte A. Liege/ Cal. 300 HH”, with a ramped blade front sight and three leaf (one standing two folding) rear sight along with standard Belgian proofs on the barrel and action. The ejector box, bolt, and follower have all been jewelled. Multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with contrasting forend tip, blued steel grip cap, blank inscription oval, and Pachmayr brown rubber recoil pad. Includes a Griffin & Howe mount. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with a few light dings and scratches, some areas of varnish wear, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000

Game Scene Engraved A. F. W. Timner Model 98 Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 2836, 30-06 Springfield cal., 23 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel part octagon barrel with a raised, beaded blade front sight and ladder rear sight graduated out to 1,000 on the matted solid rib which is marked “TIMNER G.M.B.H. COBLENZ”. The left side of the barrel is marked with the serial number and “Merco”, Merco was a German retailer in the early 20th century. The casehardened Mauser 98 type action displays attractive floral scroll engraving with a pair of casehardened scope bases and rings with non-matching upper portions. The bottom metal is also engraved in the same style with a red stag in a forested scene on the floorplate. Mounted in a lightly figured, multi-point checkered stock with raised cheekpiece and a horn buttplate. Includes a generic hard case. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished, with 99% plus blue and casehardened finishes, some minor handling evidence, stock repaired at the upper tang, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000
