Dual white bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, barrels marked “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and “A. H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA” on the right and left respectively, wedges of floral scroll at either breech, and 2 3/4
inch chambers with single
extractor. The casehardened boxlock action shows standard
post 1912 Grade B engraving consisting of floral scrollwork, A. H. Fox banners on either side, and a pair of grouse on the underside. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Deeley style
release, and round knob pistol grip stock with checkered flats and serrated hard rubber buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .617/.617 inches; choke constriction .019/.029 inches; minimum
wall thickness .034/.035 inches; 1 15/16 inch drop at comb; 3 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 5 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% plus refinished blue on the barrels, 75% original case colors, and 50% reapplied blue on the triggerguard, showing light handling
evidence with some finish wear and thinning in areas. The wood is very good with minor dings and scratches, mostly in the stock, a crack coming off of the right side of the butt, and overall crisp sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 12,000 - 16,000

switch. Multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, blank inscription shield, and Parker Brothers dog’s head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed, with the exception of the barrel length (which have been cut to 24 inches), on page 505 of

CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% original blue on the barrels, 20% original case colors concentrated in the protected areas with the remainder an attractive silver patina, a few areas of minor spotting, and overall mild handling evidence. The wood is also fine with some chipping around the metal inlets, several crack repairs coming of the tangs, scattered light dings and scratches, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
