Offered here is a gorgeous set of Winchester Custom Shop Model 70 rifles, all of which share a collector serial number. The first five rifles make up a matched set Winchester’s “Big Five” series of rifles which pay tribute to the classic five species of dangerous game which have found themselves to be the quarry of prolific hunters such as Theodore Roosevelt and Ernest Hemingway, and continue to be the coup de grace for a select few hunters to this day. The final three guns create a matched set of the WSM North American Big Game series, which celebrates the classic American game whose stories and mounts adorn hunting cabins across the United States. A mere 125 of each caliber was produced, but this is likely the only collector serialized set of all eight.
