Excellent Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade Marked Bolt Action Rifle in .22 Hornet - Serial no. 184557, 22 hornet cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1951. Ramped hooded beaded blade front, elevation adjustable rear sights, standard barrel markings and Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, factory
drilled and tapped straight tang receiver which is topped with a Redfield scope base and rings, and matching numbered bolt. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with ebony forend cap, hard rubber pistol grip cap, pancake cheekpiece, sling swivels, and checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue finish on the barreled action with limited handling marks, some bolt use marks, and overall crisp checkering on the reoiled stock. The triggerguard and floorplate are both refinished. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250 LOT 3428 Quality Dale Goens Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 82895, 30-06 Springfield cal., 23 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Originally manufactured in 1950. This fine custom sporting rifle was assembled and finished by the late Dale W. Goens. Hooded, ramped beaded blade front and flip up two-leaf rear sights, barrel marked “Dale W. Goens No. 816” on top in fancy script, single Winchester “WP” proof on the receiver with scope bases, jewelled bolt and follower, and knurled round knob bolt handle. Fancy fleur-de-lis checkered pistol grip stock with ebony forend cap, checkered blue steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and checkered blue steel trapdoor buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine as custom built and finished by master gunsmith and stock maker Dale Goens. 99% of the blue finish remains with some light handling marks overall. The stock is also very fine with crisp checkering, attractive grain, and rich color. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Rare Experimental Serial Number EXP.3 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle with Detachable Magazine in .243 Winchester - Serial no. EXP.3, 243 Win cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This is a scarce example of a Winchester Model 70 experimental prototype that is an interesting piece of the developmental history of “the rifleman’s rifle. This prototype appears to be testing the feasibility of manufacturing the Model 70 with a detachable box magazine. The only visible markings are Winchester factory oval proofs on the upper left of the barrel and receiver at the breech,
“.243” on the upper right of the barrel, and the desirable experimental serial number “EXP.3” on the upper right of the receiver ring. It is fitted with beaded blade front and folding notch sights, sling swivels, the experimental detachable box magazine and magazine catch, tang safety, smooth pistol grip stock, and a serrated plastic buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% of the original blue finish with some “crackling” of the black finish on the trigger guard and scattered light handling marks on the balance. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scuffs and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Scoped Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Alaskan Bolt Action Rifle in .338 Winchester Magnum - Serial no. 518438, 338 Win magnum cal., 25 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1961. The Alaskan variation of the Model 70 was designed as the perfect companion for big game guides across the United States as well as being specifically designed as the first rifle to be chambered in Winchester’s new .338 Winchester Magnum cartridge. Fitted with a hooded beaded blade front and flip up rear sights, standard barrel and receiver markings. The receiver is topped with a Buehler mount holding a Bausch & Lomb Baltur A scope. Fitted into a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with Monte Carlo comb and solid red Winchester recoil pad. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with light handling marks, some fading to brown on the receiver, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent on exterior with some optical hazing and a crisp reticle. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
LOT 3431 Winchester Model 54 Bolt Action Rifle in Very Scarce .30 WCF - Serial no. 28054A, 30 WCF cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1928. The Model 54 is the predecessor to the ever iconic Model 70. This particular rifle has standard markings including the “30 W.C.F.” caliber marking. This was the only cartridge from Winchester’s lever actions to become standard production, albeit the shortest lived offering of such. Fitted with a beaded blade front and peep rear sights. Mounted in a Schnabel tip checkered walnut pistol grip stock with serrated steel buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 80% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks and overall crisp checkering on the reoiled stock. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
LOT 3432 Winchester Model 52D Heavy Barrel Target Bolt Action Single Shot Rifle - Serial no. 107273D, 22 LR cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1962. Scope blocks on barrel, standard Winchester markings including factory oval proof on barrel and receiver, and smooth flat bottom pistol grip stock with accessory rail, forearm block and White Line buttpad. With hang tag, bolt tag numbered to gun, warranty card, instructions, book promotional card, and generic plastic case. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish showing limited handling marks. The stock is also excellent with minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
