Peter Cook Master Engraved Frank E. Malin .410 Bore Victoria Grade Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 81002, 410 gauge, 27 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Frank E. Malin was a English gunmaker who apprenticed at Webley & Scott before emigrating to Canada in the 1970s to set up his own business in Melbourne, Ontario. The gun has blued barrels with a single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked “Frank E. Malin & Son (Gunmakers) 5, Queen St. West, Melbourne & London” and with a flourish of floral scroll at the breech end, “Finest Pressed Fluid Steel”
and “Victoria Grade” marked on the right and left respectively, Birmingham proofs, and 3 inch chambers
with automatic ejectors. The casehardened sidelock action displays near full coverage rose and scroll type engraving with roll surrounding bouquets of flowers and an owl on the underside along with “Victoria/Grade”. The initials “LT” are marked on he bottom of the triggerguard. The triggerplate is signed “Peter Cook” for the British/Canadian master engraver. The gun
features bushed firing pins, a single trigger, rolled triggerguard, and tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with teardrop flats,
blank inscription oval, and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): choke constriction .016/.027 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 7/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, a few minor pressure dents in the stock, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000

on the smooth matted rib, 2015 dated Italian proofs,
interchangeable chokes (full/improved modified installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished action displays beautifully cut broad floral scroll with “RIZZINI” banners on either side and is signed “Bottega C. Giovanelli” on the triggerplate. The gun features a single trigger and tang mounted safety selector. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with
engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with checkered wood buttplate. Includes a factory takedown case with three extra choke tubes (cylinder, improved cylinder, and modified). Barrel and stock measurements (R/L):

CONDITION: Fine, showing 98% reapplied blue finish and 98% original coin finish, oil staining at the seams on the action, plum coloration at the front of the left barrel, light handling evidence, and crisp checkering on the replacement wood with some areas of varnish loss. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500

Factory Engraved AYA 20 Gauge Model 56 “Purdy-Style” Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 378358, 20 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the matted vent rib, 1972 dated Spanish proofs, 70mm (2 3/4 inch) chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked improved cylinder/modified. The casehardened sidelock action displays classic “rose and scroll” style engraving and features lightly carved fences, side clips, bushed firing pins, a single trigger, and an automatic safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with brown rubber Decelerator recoil pad. Includes a leather bound AYA takedown case. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; cast-on; weight 6 lbs 5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% plus original blue, 97% case colors, scattered minor handling evidence, repaired forend (right side), and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very good with mild wear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,500

Dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, barrels marked “VON LENGERKE & DETMOLD” and “U. S. AGENTS.NEW.YORK” on the right and left respectively, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and added interchangeable chokes. The coin finished action shows carved fences and floral scroll surrounding five pigeons on the right, four pheasants on the left, and four woodcocks on the underside with a gold federal
