Factory Engraved and Silver Inlaid
B. Stahl Martini Style Single Shot Schuetzen Rifle - Serial no. 7556, 32 cal., 28 1/2 inch fluted
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut stock. Built by the shop of Babette Stahl around
the turn of the 20th Century. The rifle has a blued fluted octagon barrel which features an adjustable
winged front sight, dovetail rail near the breech, period German proof marks with bore marked 7.5 mm (possibly
indicating 8.15x46R), ramrod ferrules front sling swivel, and silver inlaid scroll with “B. STAHL, SUHL” at the breech.
The barrel is fitted to the modified Martini type action which displays extensive leafy engraving around silver inlaid
linework on either side along with a silver inlaid rifleman. The underside of the action is marked “SYSTEM STAHL No. 7556” in silver
inlay. The actions features an adjustable disk rear peep sight and double set triggers. The rifle is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-
point checkered forend and straight tang stock with dished cheekpiece, thumb rest, rear sling swivel, and a Schuetzen buttplate.
CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining 90% refinished blue finish, traces of the original case colors with the balance a fine grey patina,
and most of the original silver finish turning an attractive dark aged patina. There is some spotting on the metal surfaces and mild
handling evidence. The wood shoes a few dings and scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Elaborate German Black Forest Hunting Themed Cuckoo
Clock - This is an exceptionally well made and elaborately
carved example of a late 19th century German Black Forest
cuckoo clock. Measuring approximately 36 inches
tall and 21 inches wide, the clock is shaped in the
form of a hunting cabin, topped with a hunting
scene rendering of a 12-point buck with a pair
of matchlocks slung on its neck, a pheasant
and a rabbit hanging from the sides, a
hunting horn surrounding the 6 1/2 inch
diameter clock face, a pouch hanging from
the horn, and oak leaf motifs overall. The face
is black wood with white roman numerals and
hands. Above the face are a pair of small doors,
the left opening to reveal a small man in green
playing the drums, the right a small boat. Included
with the lot are a set of three hanging weights
shaped like long pine cones and an oak leaf
themed wooden pendulum.
CONDITION: Fine overall, with some age lines and
scuffing of the decoration. Mechanically untested.

Factory Game Scene Engraved Carl Gebert Martini Type Single Shot Schuetzen
Rifle - Serial no. 920417, 32 cal., 30 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Built between 1891 and 1914. The rifle features a blued octagonal barrel with ramped
narrow front sight with winged protectors, front sling swivel, period German proof marks, and
“CARL GEBERT, MUNCHEN” inlaid in silver ahead of the “GUSS STAHL” marking at the breech. The
bore measures at .32 caliber, possibly indicating the popular 8.15/46R cartridge. The barrel is fitted
to the casehardened Martini type action which displays highly attractive oak leaf engraving over a matted background
surrounding a roe buck in a vignette on the left and a red stag on the right side before continuing onto the action lever. The rifle
is equipped with a receiver mounted adjustable disk rear sight and a double set trigger. The rifle is fitted nicely figured forend with wedge fastener and carved bolsters and
a dog’s head at the tip. The stock features oak leaf carved bolsters at the head, a large dished cheek rest, checkering and carving at the right side of the wrist, a beautifully carved roaring red
stag at the left rear of the cheek piece, and a Schuetzen style butt.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% of the original blue finish with an area of reapplied blue in the center, spotting, strong traces of original case colors on the action with the balance a fine grey, vibrant colors
on the rear sight, mild handling evidence, and some pressure marks in the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive Game Scene Engraved Left Handed Buchel “Original Meister”
Single Shot Schuetzen Rifle - NSN, 8.15x46R cal., 31 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Built with a blued Bohler steel octagonal barrel featuring a ramped post
front sight with winged protectors, front sling swivel, dovetail rail section at the breech end
holding a casehardened adjustable notch rear sight, German proof marks dated 1931, and a full length
matted sighting flat. The barrel is fitted to the casehardened falling block action which displays deep relief
oak leaf engraving over a matted background around “ORIGINAL MEISTER” on the top and a gorgeous
depiction of Diana and Actaeon on the left and hounds running a boar on the right. The oak leaf continues
on to the action lever around the pistol grip marked “ORIGINAL MEISTER” on both sides. The rifle is equipped with a casehardened
adjustable disk rear sight and a set of double set triggers. The rifle is fitted with a beautifully fitted Schnabel forend with engraved casehardened iron
and a left handed stock with fancy checkering and carving at the wrist, rear sling swivel, dished cheek rest, thumb rest, and a case colored Schuetzen butt.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally restored with 99% blue and casehardened finishes, plum hue on the front sight, minor handling evidence, some chipping at the left rear
of the forend, and sharp checkering on the stock. Mechanically excellent.
