Winchester Model
21 Double Barrel
Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial
no. 22878, 12 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1946 and 1960.
Built with blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels featuring a Bradley
red front bead and steel mid-bead sights on the matted concave solid rib,
standard factory markings, chokes marked “IMP-CYL”/”MOD”, and 2 3/4
inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the blued
action which is unadorned and features a single selective trigger and
a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The
gun is fitted with an attractive highly figured and three-panel checkered
beavertail forend with blued iron as well as a pistol grip stock with factory
grip cap and factory red rubber recoil pad. Includes an extra matching
numbered 28 inch barrel set with improved modified/full chokes, 2 3/4
inch chambers with ejectors, and dual bead sights. Also includes a later Winchester branded
leather flat case with canvas cover, oiler, snap caps, and cleaning tools.

thickness .026/.028 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally restored, retaining 97% blue finish, some thinning at the breech, light handling evidence, and
sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is also very fine, and the case is excellent.

Winchester 20 Gauge Model 21 Trap/
Skeet Marked Double Barrel Shotgun with Factory Letter - Serial no. 9151, 20 gauge, 26
inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The included copy of the factory letter states that
this gun was made for stock in current Trap grade, gauge, barrel length, ejectors, chokes, and single
trigger when the gun was completed on July 10, 1935. The letter further states that the gun was returned for repair on
June 11th, 1942 (“probably”). Writer does not recall ever seeing the aforementioned notation! The
gun has blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels featuring a Bradley red front bead and steel mid-bead sights on the
matted concave solid rib, standard factory markings, chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the blued action which is unadorned aside from “TRAP/SKEET” around the triggerplate screw and
features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is fitted with a lovely highly
figured and multi-panel checkered beavertail forend with blued iron as well as a multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with a factory buttplate. Barrel
and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .619/.616 inches; choke constriction .003(jug)/.008 inches; minimum wall
thickness .020/.022 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally restored, retaining 85% plus blue finish, some wear at the fences, light handling evidence overall, and
sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
