Factory Class “C” Engraved Colt Third Generation Single Action Army
Revolver with Ivory Grips and Factory Letter - Serial no. 99754SA, 45 Long
Colt cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, ivory grips. Manufactured in 1978, with the included factory
letter confirming the revolver’s configuration, including a 4 3/4 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish, grips not listed,
and Class “C” factory scroll engraving (engraver’s name not listed), when sent as the only revolver of its type in a shipment to
Aeromarine at 7605 Eastwood Mall in Birmingham, Alabama, on December 12, 1978, under Colt Factory Order #10529. According to
the table on page 118 of “The Post-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver 1955-1975” by Don
Wilkerson, this revolver is one of only 8 revolvers produced from 1956 to 1979 in .45 caliber with
a 4 3/4 inch barrel, blue finish, and Class “C” factory engraving. Features fixed sights, standard Colt factory markings,
along with Colt factory Class “C” floral pattern scroll engravings covering 75% of the frame, cylinder, and barrel.
Matching full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and grip strap, along with a partial serial number marked
on the front of the cylinder and a partial “COLT ENG.” mark on the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of smooth ivory
grips with silver Colt medallion inserts.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish and case colors with limited handling evidence, attractive
grain in the grips, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent.

Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 89220SA, 45
Long Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1985. Features fixed blade front and top strap notch rear sights, the one-line Colt address roll-marked on
top of the barrel with the model and caliber designation on the left side, the two-line Colt patent dates roll-marked on the left
side of the frame followed by a Rampant Colt, a Colt factory “triangle/VP” proof on the left side of the trigger guard with “7” on
the right side, along with Colt factory engraving between Class “C” & “D” levels of floral pattern scroll engravings covering over 75% of
the grip strap, trigger guard, frame, cylinder, and barrel. Matching full serial number on the frame, trigger guard, and grip strap, “COLT ENG” marked on
the trigger guard, along with a matching “9220” partial serial number marked on the front of the non-fluted cylinder. Fitted with a pair of smooth walnut grips with
matching full serial numbers written on the interiors in wax pencil.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish and case colors with very faint cylinder drag lines, a few minor handling
marks, and crisp engraving. The grips are fine with minor compression and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Third Generation Single Action Army
Revolver with Factory Letter and Case - Serial
no. 88638SA, 45 Long Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl.,
nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1977, with the
included factory letter confirming the revolver’s configuration,
including a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 Long Colt caliber,
nickel finish, grips not listed, and Class “D” factory
scroll engraving (engraver’s name not listed), when
sent as the only revolver of its type in a shipment
to Nationwide Sports Distributors at County Line
Road and Jamesway in Southampton, Pennsylvania,
on December 14, 1977, under Colt Factory Order
#10114. According to the table on page 118 of “The
Post-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver 1955-
1975” by Don Wilkerson, this revolver is the only one of its configuration produced from 1956 to 1979 in .45
caliber with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, nickel finish, and Class “D” factory engraving. Features fixed sights, standard
Colt factory markings, along with Colt factory Class “D” floral pattern “rococo” style scroll engravings with full coverage of the frame, barrel, and slide. Matching full serial
numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and grip strap, partial serial numbers marked on the front of the cylinder and loading gate, and “COLT ENG.” marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of black checkered
hard rubber grips with matching serial numbers etched on the interiors. Also includes a fitted leatherette Colt Custom Shop case.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original nickel plating with limited minor handling evidence along with crisp engraving and grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine with a few minor
storage marks.
