Cased Factory Class “D” Engraved Colt Third Generation Single Action Army
Revolver with Original Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. SA16862, 45 Long Colt
cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured
in 1979, with the included factory letter listing revolver’s configuration, including a 7
1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish, type of grips not listed, and Class “D” factory
scroll engraving (engraver’s name not listed), when sent as one of three revolver of
its type in a shipment to Outdoor Sports Headquarters at 2290 Arbor Boulevard in
Dayton, Ohio, on April 10, 1981, under Colt Custom Shop Order #1185. According to
the table on page 118 of “The Post-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver 1955-1975”
by Don Wilkerson, this revolver is one of only three revolvers of its configuration
produced from 1956 to 1979 in .45 caliber with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and
Class “D” factory engraving. Features fixed sights, standard Colt factory markings,
along with Colt factory Class “D” floral pattern scroll and punch-dot engraving with
near full coverage of the frame, cylinder, barrel, and hammer. Matching full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and grip
strap, partial serial numbers marked on the front of the cylinder, and “COLT ENG.” marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted
with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with matching serial numbers etched on the interiors. Includes the original shipping box
with a matching numbered Colt Custom Shop end label and a fitted leatherette Colt Custom Shop display case.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish and case colors with plum coloration to the front strap, limited handling
evidence, well-defined grip checkering, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent with limited minor storage wear.
The box is very good with mild edge wear and tears.

Cased Factory Class “C” Engraved and Nickel Plated Colt Third Generation
Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips and Factory Letter - Serial
no. SA03825, 45 Long Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, ivory grips.
Manufactured in 1978, with the included factory letter confirming the revolver’s
configuration, including a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber, nickel finish, grips not
listed, and Class “C” factory scroll engraving (engraver’s name not listed), when sent
as one of two revolvers of its type in a shipment to Ellett Brothers Inc. on Columbia
Avenue in Chapin, South Carolina, on September 27, 1979, under Colt Factory Order
#10941. According to the table on page 118 of “The Post-War Colt Single Action
Army Revolver 1955-1975” by Don Wilkerson, this revolver is one of only 14 revolvers
produced from 1956 to 1979 in .45 caliber with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, nickel finish, and
Class “C” factory engraving. Features fixed sights, standard Colt factory markings,
along with Colt factory Class “C” floral pattern scroll engraving covering 75% of the
frame, cylinder, and barrel. Matching full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, “COLT ENG.” marked on the left
of the trigger guard, and matching partial serial numbers marked on the front of the cylinder. Fitted with a pair of smooth ivory
grips with nickel Rampant Colt medallion inserts. Also includes a fitted leatherette Colt Custom Shop display case.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original nickel plating with limited handling evidence and crisp engraving.
Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine with some limited minor storage wear.

with Case and Factory Letter - Serial no. SA07308, 45 Long Colt cal., 5 1/2 inch
round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1979, with
the included factory letter confirming the revolver’s configuration, including a 5 1/2
inch barrel in .45 Long Colt caliber, blue finish, grips not listed, furnished with a non-
fluted cylinder, and Class “D” factory scroll engraving (engraver’s name not listed),
when sent as the only revolver of its type in a shipment to M&N Distributors at 3040
West Lomite Boulevard in Torrence, California, on April 20, 1979, under Colt Factory
Order #10344. According to the table on page 118 of “The Post-War Colt Single Action
Army Revolver 1955-1975” by Don Wilkerson, this revolver is one of only two of its
configuration produced from 1956 to 1979 in .45 caliber with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, blue
finish, and Class “D” factory engraving. Features fixed sights, standard Colt factory
markings, along with Colt factory Class “D” floral pattern scroll engraving with near
full coverage of the frame, barrel, and slide. Matching full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and grip strap, “COLT ENG.”
