Exceptional Early World War II Era “R.S.” Inspected U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 730382, 45 ACP cal.,
5 inch round bbl., blue finish, checkered plastic grips. Manufactured in 1941, the Robert Sears inspected Model 1911A1 pistols saw the
transition from Colt’s high polish blue to the parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of World War II production,
with this example having received the blue finish before the transition. This specific pistol falls within the range of 1,550 pistols (serial number
range 729,478 to 731,027) listed on page 396 of “Colt .45 Service Pistols” by Charles W. Clawson as shipped to the U.S. Springfield Armory on
May 29, 1941. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, a blued barrel marked “COLT 45 AUTO” on the left side, “G” on the underside,
and with “P” on the recoil lug, the standard two-line, two-block Colt address and patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center on the left of the slide with “P” on top
and matching “730/382” serial number under the firing pin stop, along with a checkered thumb safety, slide stop, wide spur hammer, short trigger, and arched mainspring
housing with lanyard loop at the bottom. The left of the frame bears a boxed “R.S.” (Robert Sears) inspector mark and “P”
proof, with another boxed “R.S.” inspector mark repeated on top of the frame under the slide, while the right side bears
the serial number, model, and U.S. property markings. The left of the trigger guard is marked with “T” over “triangle/VP”,
with “69” marked on the right side. Fitted with a pair of brown checkered plastic “hollow back” grips and a replacement
full blued commercial pattern magazine marked “COLT/45 AUTO” on the baseplate. Includes a “18” dated web dual cell
magazine pouch, and two extra full blued commercial pattern magazines marked “COLT/45 AUTO” on the baseplates.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 85% plus original blue finish with some minor edge wear, minor cycling wear,
minor thinning on the grip straps with some smooth grey and brown patinas, some minor specks of freckling, along with crisp roll-marks and proofs. The grips are excellent
with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Exceptional U.S. Remington-Rand Inc./Colt Model
1911A1 National Match Semi-Automatic Pistol with Shipping Box, Invoice,
and ExtraMagazines - Serial no. 994829, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized/
blue finish, walnut grips. Frame originally manufactured by Remington Rand Inc. in
1943, subsequently upgraded to National Match competition-grade specifications
by the U.S Springfield Armory. Fitted with a serrated Patridge blade front and
adjustable “TRIANGLE” marked target notch rear sights, mounted on top of the arsenal
replacement slide with a National Match prefix “NM” part number on the left and one-line Colt address on the right side,
a “N M” marked barrel bushing, an arsenal matched “45 AUTO/NM7791414/994829” marked blued barrel, arsenal cut
checkering on the front grip strap, “FJA” (Frank J. Atwood) inspection and “P” stamps on the left of the frame, the U.S.
property marking, model designation, and serial number on the right of the frame along with two older “RIA” (U.S. Rock
Island Armory) and “SA” (U.S. Springfield Armory) rebuild stamps, a larger and more recent “SA” rebuild stamp, “T”
stamp, and “NM” stamped on the right side of the trigger guard. Fitted with a long serrated adjustable trigger,
serrated slide catch and arched mainspring housing, checkered thumb safety and narrow-spur hammer, a pair
of checkered walnut grips, and an unmarked parkerized magazine. Includes a “PISTOL AUTO C/45 M1911A1-NM
W/E/1 EA A 4/65/SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” marked packing box, a shipping box, an original un-numbered World
War II era Ithaca Gun Co. marked Kraft pattern box containing three extra magazines, and a matching numbered
shipping invoice from the U.S. Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton, Ohio, with a packaging date of “12-29-65”, showing the
pistol as sent as a part of “NRA SALES” to a resident of Muncie, Indiana.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as upgraded to National Match specifications by the U.S. Springfield Armory, retaining
99% arsenal parkerized and 98% plus blue finishes with softened original markings on the frame, limited minor cycling
wear, a few minor handling marks, and crisp grip strap checkering. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling
marks in the crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The packing box is very fine with some minor storage wear. The
Kraft pattern box is fine with light storage wear.

World War II U.S. Union Switch & Signal Co. Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 1045060, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl.,
Du-Lite/blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1943. In May 1942, U.S. Ordnance placed an order with the Union Switch & Signal Company
for the production of 200,000 Model 1911A1 pistols, an order which was later reduced to just 55,000. All of the completed pistols were delivered
to U.S. Ordnance throughout the course of 1943, with the serial number of this specific pistol falling within the range of 4,537 pistols (serial
numbers “1,044,410” to “1,048,946”) sent out in April of that year as listed in the table on page 144 of “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols: 1920-1945”
by Meadows. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, a correct “HS” (High Standard) marked blued barrel with and “P” on the recoil lug,
the “USS” monogram and two-line Swissvale, Pennsylvania, address marked on the left of the slide, the circled “R.C.D.” (Robert C. Downie) inspection and “P” stamps on the left of
the frame, along with the U.S. property marking, serial number, and model designation on the right of the frame. Fitted with a checkered stamped trigger, slide catch, thumb safety,
narrow spur hammer, and arched mainspring housing, a pair of Keyes Fibre Co. checkered brown plastic grips marked “star/K” on the interiors, and a full blued magazine marked “R”
on the toe.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% plus original thin faded Du-Lite with scattered light edge wear, smooth grey and brown patinas on the balance,
scattered minor freckling/spotting, a replacement parkerized slide catch, minor cycling wear on the barrel, a few light handling marks, and clear
markings. The grips are fine with some minor handling wear in the crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
