Colt M16A2 Selective Fire Rifle, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine
Gun, with Accessories - Serial no. 8004514, 5.56 mm cal., 20 inch round bbl.,
matte black finish, synthetic stock. Developed in the early 1980s, the M16A2’s
parameters were mostly driven by requests made by the United States
Marine Corps. These requests included alterations to the stock and forearm,
integration of an adjustable rear sight, closing off the bottom of the
birdcage pattern flash hider, and swapping out the full auto fire mode for a
three round burst mode (note: this example is outfitted with full automatic
configured internals). These were the
signature weapon of the U.S. armed
forces through the end of the Cold
War and up to the War on Terror.
Elevation adjustable post and fully
adjustable peep rear sights, with
an A2 pattern flash hider on the “C
MP NATO 1/7 HBAR” marked barrel
with bayonet lug and ribbed round
handguard. “C/ME” is cast into the
carry handle, with a round button
style forward assist and casing
deflector integrated into the upper,
and a M16A2 marked lower with
“SAFE”/”SEMI”/”BURST” markings
around the right handed selector.
Fitted with a checkered pistol grip
and fixed buttstock. The bolt carrier
is marked “C” and the bolt head
“MPC”, both matte finished, a “P” marked
hammer, semi-automatic/full automatic capable internals, and a one-piece
buffer. A variety of accessories and components are with the lot, including a
shipping box, bayonet with sheath, slings, a magazine pouch, a number of
spare parts, cleaning tools and thirteen extra magazines.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, 98% plus original matte black phosphate finish,
showing minor handling marks overall and some fading on the stock.
Mechanically excellent. Accessories are very fine or better overall. NOTE: This
weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which
is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,
(BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
