Exquisite Roger Sampson Signed Engraved and
Gold Inlaid Russian Miniature French Model 1873
Double Action Revolver with Relief Carved Grips -
NSN, 2 1/4 inch part round bbl., blue/gold finish, relief carved
hardwood grips. This wonderful approximately 1/2 scale non-firing miniature
French Model 1873 revolver was reported to have been made in Russia, and
subsequently engraved by American Master Engraver Roger Sampson in the late 1990s,
with his signature “R. SAMPSON 03” to the left of the trigger. It features ornate engraving
consisting of grape clusters and leafs with gold inlaid borders, some gold filled grape clusters,
gold plated hammer and trigger, and fitted with relief carved hardwood grips.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% original bright blue and gold finishes, with crisp
engraving and carving. The action mechanically functions.

Miniature Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship” -A) Engraved
and Gold Plated Miniature DWM Model 1914 Artillery Luger
Pistol with Carved Ivory Grips - Serial no. 28, 4 inch round bbl.,
gold finish, carved ivory grips. This is an outstanding, impressive set
of three masterfully engraved and gold plated approximately 1/2
scale non-firing Imperial Miniature Armory miniature Luger pistols
with carved ivory grips, exhibiting a very high level of craftsmanship
and artistry, and Rock Island Auction Company is honored to be able
to offer them. All three feature highly detailed oak leaf and acorn
pattern presentation type engraving executed by Master Engraver
Tom Hicks, with oak leaf and acorn pattern carved ivory grips done
by Dennis Holland as well as the carved ivory bases on the gold
plated magazines. This miniature World War I DWM Model 1914
Artillery Luger pistol has a “1917” date marking on the chamber
and a “DWM” logo on the toggle, with “28” on the left of the upper
receiver. Includes a black leather wrapped case made by Wayne Hoosier with blue felt interior
fitted for the set of three miniature Lugers. This exact set of miniature Lugers is pictured on p. 213
of “The Art of Miniature Firearms, Centuries of Craftsmanship”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% bright original gold plating with crisp engraving and
grip carving. Action mechanically untested. Case is very fine. B) Engraved and Gold Plated
Miniature DWM Model 1914 Navy Luger Pistol with Carved Ivory Grips - Serial no. 49, 3 inch
round bbl., gold finish, carved ivory grips. This miniature World War I DWM Model 1914 Navy Luger
pistol has a “1917” date marking on the chamber and a “DWM” logo on the toggle, with “49” on the
left of the upper receiver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% bright original gold plating with crisp engraving and
grip carving. Action mechanically untested. C) Engraved and Gold Plated Miniature Erfurt
Model 1908 Military Luger Pistol with Carved Ivory Grips - Serial no. 19, 2 inch round bbl.,
gold finish, carved ivory grips. This miniature Erfurt Model 1908 Military Luger pistol has a
“1912” date marking on the chamber and a “(crown)/ERFURT” marking on the toggle, with “19”
on the left of the upper receiver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% bright original gold plating with crisp engraving and
grip carving. Action mechanically untested.
