Scarce and Superb World War II Era German Bank Contract .22
LR Walther PPK Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Red/White
Painted Sights and Matching Magazine and Holster - Serial no.
343945k, 22 LR cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips.
Manufactured in 1941 and one of a very small number of Walther PPK
pistols chambered in .22 Long Rifle made on contract for the Reichsbank, identified
by its matching serial number marked on the right of the magazine grip extension. Features
factory white painted fixed blade front and red painted notch rear sights on a matted rib. It also
has World War II era “eagle” proofs as discussed on page 70 of “Walther Models PP and PPK 1929-
1945” (1974 publication) by James L. Rankin. 60-degree throw safety lever, the Walther “banner”,
address, patent marking, along with the caliber designation and model marking on the left side of the
frame, matching “k” suffix serial numbers marked on the right side of the frame and slide, and “eagle/N” German commercial
proofs on the right side of the slide, chamber, and muzzle. Fitted with a Walther “Banner” marked checkered black hard rubber
wrap-around grip and a blued magazine with a matching serial number marked on the right side of the black plastic grip
extension. Includes a brown leather flap holster with an “eagle” stamp.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with minor holster pattern edge wear, minor cycling wear, plum
coloration to the slide, some minor handling marks, along with crisp markings. The wraparound grip is very fine with a vertical
hairline crack on the left side and well-defined grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is exceptionally fine.

“42” Date Mauser Banner
Commercial P.08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 8137w, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue/straw finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1942, with this specific example’s serial number not far off
from the Swedish contract 7.65 mm Luger Auto chambered variants found in the “7000w” range. Features
fixed blade front and notch rear sights, the “42” date marking on top of the barrel extension, Mauser “banner” marked
on top of the toggle link, and “eagle/N” commercial proofs on the barrel extension and breech block. Matching full
serial numbers on the fame and barrel extension, along with matching “37” partial serial numbers visible on small parts.
Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips along with a “fxo” code, “eagle/37” proofed, and “P.08” marked blued magazine
with unmarked black plastic base.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 90% original straw colors
with correct plum coloration on the unserialized commercially proofed barrel, some minor
edge wear, some minor thinning on the rear grip strap and straw colored parts, limited
freckling, along with clear and bright markings. The grips are also excellent with a few
minor compression and handling marks in the well-defined checkering with attractive
consistent age darkening. Mechanically excellent. Overall a very attractive example of a World
War II era 1942 production Mauser “banner” Luger pistol!

Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine - Serial
no. 6901, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue/straw finish, checkered walnut grips. Manufactured in
1912 by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) under contract for the Imperial German military, a first
issue example without a stock lug or breech block hold open device. Features fixed blade front and notch rear
sights, the “1912” date on top of the barrel extension, the “DWM” monogram marked on top of the toggle link, “crown/
Gothic letter” military proofs on the right side of the barrel extension, along with imperial eagle firing proofs on the barrel,
barrel extension, and breech block. “H.E.P.” electro-penciled on the left lower frame near the grip screw. Matching full commercial pattern serial
numbers on the frame, barrel, and barrel extension, along with matching “01” partial serial numbers visible on small parts. Fitted with a pair of checkered
walnut grips with matching partial serial numbers on the interiors and a nickel plated magazine with matching numbered walnut base.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original blue finish and 80% plus original straw colors with some minor holster pattern edge wear,
some limited minor grey and brown patinas on the balance, along with crisp and bright markings and
proofs. The grips are exceptionally fine with well-defined checkering and attractive age darkening.
Mechanically excellent. Overall a very attractive example of an unaltered first issue Imperial
German “1912” dated DWM Model 1908 Military Luger pistol!
