Paul Jaeger Built Engraved and Silver Inlaid
Fabrique Nationale Mauser Bolt Action Rifle with
Scope - Serial no. 5456, 30-06 Springfield cal., 22 inch round
bbl., blue/silver finish, walnut stock. Built without sights on the blued
steel barrel which features an engraved barrel band, a wedge of beautifully cut oak leaf engraving at the breech
with silver inlaid scrolling line accents, “CAL. 30-06” marked on the left side, and “5/60” (May 1960) date code on the
barrel. The barrel is also marked “PAUL JAEGER - JENKINTOWN - PA.” on the top for the famous shop of Paul Jaeger,
one of the finest gunsmiths in the United States during his time. The barrel is fitted to the
blued Fabrique Nationale Mauser action which displays near full coverage oak leaf
engraving and features a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x scope in engraved rings and base,
a jewelled bolt body, oak leaf engraving on the bolt shroud, checkered bolt handle,
and Liege proof marks from between 1952 and 1960. The bottom metal is blued
and features more of the beautiful oak leaf engraving surrounding a a running silver
inlaid pronghorn antelope in a mountain scene on the floorplate. The rifle is fitted
in a wonderfully shaped and figured pistol grip stock with ebony forend tip, sling
studs, masterfully executed fleur-de-lis checkering, oak leaf engraved blued steel
grip cap, raised cheekpiece, blank inscription oval, and a Pachmayr
White-Line recoil pad. Includes a leather sling.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and silver finishes with minor handling evidence, some
scratches on the stock, and sharp checkering on the stock. Mechanically excellent. The scope optics are clear.

Kruschitz Signed and Factory Engraved Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1952 Bolt Action Rifle with
Scope - Serial no. 7843, 7x57 mm cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built with a blued steel barrel featuring a ramped
hooded beaded blade fore sight, barrel band, two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight, and 1952 dated Austrian proof marks. The
barrel is fitted to the blued action which features attractive scroll engraving , standard markings, and a Griffin & Howe scope mount holding a Redfield 2-7x
scope. The blued floorplate features a relief engraved chamois with scroll engraving, a gold oval marked “Lori”, and “KRUSCHITZ” marked in a banner likely for
Austrian Master Engraver Martin Kruschitz, along with a roe buck bust on the trigger guard which protects the double set triggers. The rifle is fitted in a nicely figured full
length pistol grip stock with blued forend cap, sling swivels, shadowline pancake cheekpiece, and a black grip cap and buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with minor handling evidence, a few scratches/pressure marks in the stock, and sharp checkering. Mechanically
excellent. The scope optics are clear.

Albin Obiltschnig Master Engraved and Silver Game
Scene Inlaid Griffin & Howe/Mauser Werke Bolt Action Rifle - Serial
no. 120022, 270 Win cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, walnut stock. The rifle has a blued steel barrel without sights which
is signed “No. 2559 GRIFFIN & HOWE NEW YORK, N.Y.” on the top along with “CAL. .270” on the left of the chamber. The barrel is fitted to
the blued Mauser-Werke World War II era military pattern action which shows its original markings and German proof marks and features
Buehler scope bases, a jewelled bolt body, matted front bridge, and five-panel checkering on the bolt handle. The bottom metal is blued and features
near full coverage floral scroll engraving with bright accents as well as a coin finished floorplate featuring scroll engraving with silver inlaid scrolls, and a
relief inlaid silver mountain goat in an alpine scene. The engraving is signed “Obiltschnig” on the floorplate for Master Engraver
Albin Obiltschnig who would have completed his work after Griffin & Howe finished the rifle. The rifle is fitted in a stunningly well
figured and multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with ebony forend tip, recoil bolt with engraved cap, blued steel grip cap,
shadowline cheekpiece, and a blued steel checkered buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 99% masterfully executed coin and silver finishes, minor handling
evidence, attractive darkened patina on the silver, some spots of thinning in the varnish, and sharp checkering on the stock
and forend. Mechanically excellent.
