Pre-World War II Winchester 20 Gauge
Model 21 Skeet Double Barrel Shotgun with
Case Presented to General Norman Schwarzkopf
- Serial no. 15816, 20 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured prior to World War II. Built with blued
Winchester Proof Steel barrels featuring a Bradley red front bead and
steel mid-bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, standard factory
markings, added Briley chokes (improved cylinder/skeet I installed),
and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted
to the blued action which is unadorned aside from “SKEET” marked
to the rear of the floorplate screw and features a single selective gold
trigger and a manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun
is fitted with an attractively-figured beavertail forend with multi-panel
checkering and a pistol grip stock with factory grip cap and recoil
pad. This Model 21 was presented to legendary General H. Norman
Schwarzkopf by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. General
Schwarzkopf served two tours in Vietnam and led the United States
Military through the Gulf War earning three Bronze Stars, three Silver
Stars, Legion of Merit, Presidential Medal of Freedom, two Purple Hearts, and numerous other
honors. Includes four letters: one from Doug Painter, president of the NSSF, mentioning those
that helped in presenting the general with this shotgun; one from the general thanking Bruno
Pardee for the refurbishment done by the Winchester Custom Shop; one to Don Gobel, then president of Browning; and one signed by Cynthia Schwarzkopf, on Schwarzkopf Family letterhead,
certifying this shotgun by serial number as being the former property of her father, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Also includes a canvas case with canvas cover featuring a presentation
marking on the interior lid and containing four extra chokes (cylinder, light modified, modified, and improved modified). Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the
breech .619/.620 inches; minimum wall thickness .040/.039 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-on; weight 7 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 99% blue finish with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.

Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 6307, 16 gauge, 26 inch solid rib
bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured circa 1935. Built with blued
Winchester Proof Steel barrels featuring a white front bead and steel mid-
bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, standard factory markings,
chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the blued action which is unadorned aside from
“TOURNAMENT/SKEET” around the triggerplate screw and features a single selective
trigger and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun
is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend
with blued iron as well as a pistol grip stock with a checkered butt. Barrel
and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech
.671/.671 inches; choke constriction .002(jug)/.009 inches; minimum wall
thickness .028/.028 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel;
14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored, retaining 97% blue finish,
light handling evidence, a crack on the forend at the release (appears stable),
and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
