Factory Game Scene Engraved German Gebruder Merkel Model 141 Double Rifle - Serial no.
551401, 8x57 IRS cal., 23 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a
ramped red fiber optic blade front sight and fixed rear sight on the matted solid rib, standard Merkel markings,
2002 dated German proofs, import mark under the forend, small wedges of scroll at either
breech, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sideclipped
boxlock action displays a roaring red stag on the left in a forested scene and a
running boar on the right with the balance showing broad scrollwork. The rifle
features double triggers, bushed firing pins, and tang mounted automatic safety
selector switch. Import marked underside of barrel. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip
stock with raised cheekpiece and black polymer grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull 14 5/16 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% original blue finish, 85% original coin finish, some discoloration on the action, and overall light
handling evidence. The wood is excellent with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Introduced in 1974. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a white beaded
bladed fore sight on a island base, fixed rear sight and a set of German claw
mounts holding a Schmidt & Bender 1.25-4x20 mm scope on the rear quarter
rib which is marked “-EXPRESS-CHAPUIS-FRANCE”, import mark on under rib, and
chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened sideplated action
which displays scroll engraving surrounding a leopard scene on the left lockplate, a cape buffalo
bull on the underside, and a majestic lion on the right sideplate. The engraving is signed on the
triggerplate with what appears to read “JM Smets”. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted
manual safety with gold inlaid “S” indicator. The rifle is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with
engraved and casehardened iron and Deeley latch release as well as a pistol grip stock with engraved casehardened grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and a
Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Includes an extra matching numbered set of 27 1/2 inch 20 gauge barrels with 3 inch chambers and a choke constrictions
of .008/.025 inches. Also includes a factory branded leather flat case. Length of pull 14 3/8 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 14 oz. (with scope).
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, some minor spotting near the muzzle,
and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with light wear. The extra barrel is very fine with minor spotting. The scope
optics are sharp.

Factory Engraved Renato Gamba London Model Sidelock
Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 26035, 12 gauge, 26 13/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/brushed bright finish, walnut stock. Built
with blued steel dovetail lump barrels featuring a single bead sight on the hand filed game rib, factory markings, 1978 dated Italian proof marks, choke constrictions
of .007/.027 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the brushed bright finished sidelock bar-action which displays attractive
scroll engraving with “Renato Gamba” signatures on either lockplate and features bushed firing pins, a single trigger, intercepting sears, ribbed cocking indicators, and a tang mounted manual
safety. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered semi-beavertail forend with engraved iron and Anson button release as well as a straight hand stock with teardrop carved
flats, blank silver inscription oval, and checkered butt. Stock measurements: 1 1/4 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 2 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue and brushed bright finishes with some scratches on the left barrel near the tip of the forend and overall minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with a
tiny chip at the upper tang, some pressure marks and scratches, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 480037, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish,
walnut stock. The gun was built with blued Spezial Gewehrlaufstahl barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, standard markings, dual
string of pearl bands at the breech, 1995 dated German proof marks on the flats, dovetailed block fitted to the rib at the breech, added front sling swivel, import mark
on right tube, chokes marked “1/4”/”3/4” (improved cylinder/improved modified), and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the coin grey finished sidelock action
which features sideclips, ribbed cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety and displays highly attractive leafy scroll engraving surrounding a pair of highly detailed
game scenes depicting a dog with a shot hare and a second fleeing hare on the left and a fox flushing a trio of mallards on the right. The gun is fitted with a highly figured and multi-point checkered forend
with engraved coin finished iron as well as a straight hand stock with added rear sling swivel and a factory buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of
pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, some dried grease on the action, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
