Collector’s Set of Five Ruger No.
1 Boddington African Adventure
Series Single Shot Rifles with Boxes
-A) Ruger No. 1 “The Lion” Rifle in
.375 Ruger - Serial no. CB1-00077, 375
Ruger cal., 22 inch round bbl., matte blue
finish, walnut stock. This five gun set
was manufactured between 2008 and
2010 as one of just 250 total, and was a
collaborative effort between Ruger, the
distributor Lipsey’s, and the legendary
Craig Boddington, for whom the serial
numbers all bear the “CB” prefix. The idea
was to create a set of rifles which share many features, each of which
would be perfectly equipped for Mr. Boddington’s favorite African
game species; lion, buffalo, kudu, leopard, and elephant. Each rifle in
the set is equipped with a banded ramped beaded blade front sight,
front sling eye barrel band, and notch rear sight on the rear quarter
rib which is set of for a set of Warne scope rings. The barrels are fitted
to the classic falling bock actions with thumb safeties. Each rifle is
fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered forend
and pistol grip stock with blue steel grip cap, rear sling eye, and a
factory black rubber recoil pad. All five guns include their original
factory box and their scope rings.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original matte blue
finish with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the
wood. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good. B) Ruger No. 1 “The
Buffalo” Rifle in .450-400 Nitro Express - Serial no. CB2-00077,
450/400 N.E. 3” cal., 24 inch round bbl., matte blue finish, walnut
stock. As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original matte blue finish
with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and
forend. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good. C) Ruger No. 1
“The Kudu” Rifle in .300 H&H Magnum - Serial no. CB3-00077, 300
H&H Mag cal., 26 inch round bbl., matte blue finish, walnut stock. As
described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original matte blue finish
with minor handling evidence, a tiny spot of oxidation near the barrel
band, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically
excellent. Box is very good. D) Ruger No. 1 “The Leopard” Rifle in
7x57 mm - Serial no. CB4-00077, 7x57 mm cal., 22 inch round bbl.,
matte blue finish, walnut stock. As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original matte blue finish
with minor handling evidence, a tiny patch of oxidation near the
muzzle, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
Box is very good. E) Ruger No. 1 “The Elephant” Rifle in .450 Nitro
Express - Serial no. CB5-00077, 450 Nitro Express cal., 24 inch round
bbl., matte blue finish, walnut stock. As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original matte blue finish
with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and
forend. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good. A great chance to
own a true consecutive set of these fine rifles!

Bottega Giovanelli Signed Engraved Winchester
Model 70 Ultra Grade 1 of 1000 Featherweight Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. UG372, 270
Win cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. This rifle has a featherweight style barrel manufactured
without sights with one wide and one thin gold wire barrel bands near the muzzle, “1 of 1,000” marked in gold on the right side and an oval
Winchester proofmark on top. The action displays nearly full coverage scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds and gold wire borders and is
marked with “UG372” in gold. The bolt and follower are jeweled. The scroll patterns also appear on the bolt knob, black metal grip cap and floor plate which has the
head of a big horn sheep and gold wire borders. The left rear of the action is signed “Bottega C. Giovanelli.” It is mounted on a fancy American walnut featherweight style stock
with full fiddleback grain pattern, extra fancy checkering patterns on the Schnabel forearm and pistol grip area, sling swivel studs, and a Winchester red rubber rifle pad.
CONDITION: Excellent with 99% original blue finish with only light handling marks overall. The wood is also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
