Factory Engraved John Rigby & Co. Underlever Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 15351, 12 gauge, 30 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1880 and 1885 per the information given on page 128 of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers Volume One: London”. Blued steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked with the Rigby address, light engraving at the breech, period London proofs and late
London reproofs on the flats, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with a single extractor. The casehardened underlever sidelock action displays extensive
scroll engraving with “Jno Rigby & Co” on either lockplate. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and an automatic tang safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered ments (R/L): bore diameter nine inches

Barrel and stock measure from the breech both proofed at “12/1” (.740 inches) and measured .747/.749 inches; choke constriction .010/.035 inches; minimum wall thickness .019/.020

CONDITION: Fine, retaining 98% reapplied blue finish, smooth grey patina on the action, some pitting near the breech beneath the finish, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also fine with a tiny crack at the rear of the left lockplate, some chipping at the upper tang, some light dings and scratches, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. inscription oval marked “G.J.Browne” and a horn buttplate. Included with the gun is correspondence with Greener in which it is stated
that the gun was finished on May 4th, 1888, and is described as a “Best Ejector” in 12 bore with 30 inch barrels and modified/full chokes. Also included is a leather mutton leg takedown case. Stock measurements: 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 13/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 1 oz. CONDITION: Very good overall, showing smooth brown on the Damascus barrels, attractive grey on the action, small repair at the left rear of the forend, and sharp freshened checkering. The case is very good. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500

Factory Engraved John Patstone Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 3660, 12
gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Damascus steel barrels with a single
bead sight on the smooth solid rib which is marked which is marked “JOHN PATSTONE. 25. HIGH St. SOUTH HAMPTON”, correct period London proofs with later Birmingham nitro reproofs, 2 3/4 inch chambers
with single extractor, and choke constrictions of .006/.009 inches. The casehardened hammer action
displays scroll engraving and “JOHN PATSTONE” signatures on the locks and features dual triggers and non-rebounding hammers. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and
straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points and a steel heel and toe plates around a checkered
bare butt. Includes an oak & leather takedown case marked “A.W./BANNOCKBURN HOUSE” on the lid and
with cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16
inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 10 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, showing a smooth brown with strong patterns on the barrels, smooth grey
on the action, light handling evidence, and some softening of the edges on the re-oiled wood which
shows worn but well-defined checkering. The case is good. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved Theophilus Murcott Bar-in-Wood Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun with Case
- Serial no. 4595, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Damascus
steel barrels with a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked “T. MURCOTT, 08
HAYMARKET, LONDON”, period Birmingham proofs, chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with extractor, and
choke constrictions of .004/.000 inches. The casehardened bar-in-wood hammer action displays attractive
scroll engraving with “T. MURCOTT” signed on either lockplate and a push-forward toplever release. The
gun features rebounding hammers and a set of double triggers. Attractively figured, multi-point checkered
splinter forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with carved drop points, blank inscription
oval, and a smooth steel buttplate. Includes an oak & leather takedown case with factory trade label
containing cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14
7/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 15 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, showing a smooth brown patina on the barrels with strong patterns, smooth grey patina on the action, light handling evidence, and re-oiled wood with crisp checkering at the wrist and smoothed but visible checkering on the forend. The case is good. Mechanically excellent.

Antique Factory Engraved W.W. Greener Facile Princep Best Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 36451, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Damascus steel barrels with a single brass bead on the matted solid rib which is marked with the Greener address, period Birmingham black powder proofs, scroll engraving at either breech, and chambers measured 2
3/4 inches. The scalloped casehardened boxlock action displays bouquet and scroll
engraving and features double triggers and a classic Greener safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” marking. Beautifully
figured, fancy fleur-de-lis checkered forend with horn tip and engraved fittings, and round knob pistol grip stock with
